Will Pacquiao's unconventional punching angles be key in penetrating Clottey's guard?

Clottey holds his gloves up in the traditional ear-muff style and lets fighters punch away, but Pac can punch hard and accurately from awkward angles. Will this be the key to victory for Pacquiao and why Roach is predicting a mid-rounds stoppage over the tough Clottey?

Pacs body attack will be decisive. He is far too quick Clottey.

Cotto was splitting Clottey's guard at times when shots at half the speed that Pacquiao will be throwing. Pacquiao is going to dice the underprepared Clottey to pieces. Based on everything going into this fight, I'm not even expecting it to be that competitive. Out of the gate it will be interesting, and Clottey has a chin, but he's still getting stretched out inside nine.

Punching through guard, even if you get through, takes a lot of steam off of your punches. I expect Pac to win convincingly, but I don't think he'll really bust Clottey up too much. Certainly nothing like he did to Cotto.

I can see pac using more movement and potshotting his way through the early rounds. I dont see him going toe to toe like against Hatton or Cotto. It will be more like the Pac we saw against Oscar

My remark about Pacquiao icing Clottey inside nine is based on the assumption that Clottey will continue to try to win the fight all the way through and not just try to survive ala Kevin-Johnson-versus-Dr.-Iron-Fist. If he just tries to survive, he'll get whitewashed on the cards and see the final bell. If he tries to be competitive and fight to win, Clottey gets stopped - whether by his corner, or counted out.

Yep, good assessment. Clottey will not be lunging in like Hatton did, so Pacquiao will have to do a little more dissecting in the early rounds as opposed to just picking off a wide open face.
