Will Parker be a bigger threat to Zhang than Hrgovic and Joyce were?

    Great description of zang mate.
I think because Parker has been around so long people forget that he is only 32. He has been trained by Lee for several years now and he definitely looks better than he has in the past. He looked great against wilder and that could be because wilder is washed or joe is coming into his prime now.
Parker has a lot of experience in big fights with big audiences, where zang does not. This could make a difference especially if Lee comes up with a game plan that Parker follows. He is definitely a chance in this fight.

@BubblesUK @BlackDog Just want to say good debate between both of you. It's nice to see two sides who both have legitimate points debating in a civil manner. I find myself agreeing with portions of both of your arguments. I think this fight is really interesting and hard to predict because of what both men bring to the ring, and what they have proven up to now.

Lots of other good posts from other posters on here as well.

I don't see anyone KOing zhang besides maybe Joshua.

Zhang took big shots from Hrgovic and survived.

I could see maybe a late Parker TKO.

Not sure he presents a bigger threat, just a different threat. Question is will Zhang have the answers to deal with Parkers approach to the fight and the same can be asked of Parker. He struggled when being countered by Ruiz Jr as he likes to lead which plays into a counter punchers style. He's going to have to execute another perfect fight like he did vs Wilder, get off first and then move, one mistake and Zhang could end it with one brutal shot. It should be a fascinating fight to see who can impose their style on the other.

    Thanks

Yeah, if J-Park can box and move and attack in spurts he can cause the much bigger, heavier and slow-footed Big Bang a lot of problems and maybe win the fight if he can avoid getting caught with something huge or too often. Ring size could be a big factor here.

    The Dosser can't fight

"I think Zhang is very good - a legit Top-6 nightmare of a man
But I also believe we are seeing "Peak Parker" right now - and I see him taking this fight"

    Yeah good on ya man.

You'll see a lot of other posters that picked him to beat Zhang as well. Just shows triangle theories don't work.

Parker is aiming to rematch Zhang

But surely there must be better matchups than that?

Wasn't their a rematch clause, I think their was, so Parker doesn't really have a choice. He's been calling out Whyte and Joshua but unless Zhang changes his mind Parker is locked in to the rematch.

    Mine didn't :cunaooooo:

Edit: Oh wait, not this thread... We'll pretend I didn't say anything about how comparatively great Hrgovic was going to be :comp4:

There isn't really though Joshua and Dubois are fighting in September, Usyk and Fury are fighting a rematch in December, the only other option for Parker is Kabayel who would be a good opponent but is also a very dangerous fight for Parker that if he lost could drop him out of the title picture.

So realistically Parker either rematches Zhang, takes on a dangerous the Kabayel which is a losable fight for him. Or play the waiting game and see how Joshua/Dubois, Usyk/Fury, pans out and see if he can get a big fight against the winner.

Zhang knows he can put Parker down. I think he can finish the job in the rematch.

But keeping him down without blowing his own gasket is Zhangs issue
Zhang has 2 choices - come out hard looking for a early KO and risk gassing earlier
Pace himself boxing patiently but at a pace that suits Parker who banks rounds so ZZ must KO him late...
I am a Kiwi but see Parker in the driving seat here- although I am realistic and a glancing blow from ZZ potentially can end a fight.
    JP by 3-5 rounds again
Current fit, motivated and well schooled Parker is wrong for ZZ
