When was Joshua shaken up? Surely you didn't watch the fight either? Lol As far as Parker doing more! When was this too, because he was on the back foot the entire time ? The best punch Parker landed was a huge left hook after a head butt in round 3 which resulted in.....nothing !
Then he’s not smart and should have went for it earlier. Did Parker gas like this vs Ruiz or Fury? If your answer is no, then it is his effort and will to win that was lacking not his conditioning or lack there of.
Minus the matchroom judges and ref he might have been a couple of rounds away. Femi wasn't much better except in the last few rounds when Parker just seemed out of gas. Femi's nuts are also AWOL.
Nice thread title, ever stuck on a pair of gloves? How did you get on? Parker has heart, courage and talent, former Heavyweight World Champion. It's completely embarrassing you'd even post such a thing.
Parker didnt go to town on AJ but he was naking johua look a fool mid rounds. If i got a chance with aj i got take his jaw off. Parker nver even attempted it
When the ref denied Parker any hope of at least testing out whether he could beat Joshua on the inside, and when he was clearly the smaller boxer with lesser reach, and when AJ decided to keep Parker at the end of his longer jab and play it safe, what is he supposed to do other than try to make sure the fight goes long and hope his opponent gasses? I'm not saying he would have won the fight had the ref let them engage up close, I'm saying without that option available to him, and bearing in mind his physical disadvantages, it a stretch to conclude he lacked to cojones to try win the fight. What he lacked were options.
I am sure he got a great payday & made a lot of rounds close. He did better vs Joshua then all of Joshuas previous opponents except Vlad who almost had A.J. out of there. Parker had to adjust to Jushuas style & landed a few. I thought it was a clear Joshua win but 7-4-1 type of fight. Smart fight & he lives on.
Joshua didn’t give him much pressure either. Why didn’t he go for it sooner? He didn’t want to risk a power punch. Call it for what it was. Extremely disappointed.
Parker had opportunity to go for it and either win by knockout or get himself brutally knocked out.He wasnt going to win on points either way and he knew it already.Just like people know that they wont be given the decision vs Canelo and Mayweather before and so on. Parker was fine with losing a decision rather than risking to go for K.O . Cant really blame him for that,he has reputation as someone that never been down as amateur or pro and he wanted to keep it that way. Most of these guys are egomaniacs anyway you have to keep that in mind. He is probably thinking that even if he won on points they would never given it to him or might even think that he actually won but got robbed and there is nothing that can be done about it at all.Going for broke all out is big risk at this stage and its not usually the right approach. Even if Parker`s tactic was to wait for Joshua to gas then some of you and Parker himself and his team should have known that their guy got also poor gas tank and its bad tactic. But he had lesser reach, height, weight,on enemy territory and so on.
Everytime Parker and Joshua would start to mix it up the referee would break them up, hell, the ref would not allow them to fight! It was a very close fight, judges were a disgrace............
Parker did okay. He tried to engage often but the referee wouldn't let them. The referee's handling of the action forced both fighters to become less aggressive. Joshua boxed well and won the fight. It wasn't a great fight but neither fighter deserves to have their courage questioned.
