Will Parker vs. Pulev be the final eliminator for AJ?

I think the IBF are pretty straight as far as that goes. Yes a promoter can pay for a final eliminator, resulting in the likes of Dan and Bizier in title fights. But they're a damn sight better than the others like the WBC and WBA who are loath to follow their own rules and enforce mandatories.

 

Why did Parker's team turn down the Martin shot then? He could've been the one with the belt.

 

It was a Dutch auction. Martin just wanted AJ...the talk with Parker was just leverage.

Whereas when they reached out to Joshuas team, they threw big bucks at Martin....

Easy decision as to which true young contender would take your title.

 

Parker is the mandatory! Period! Pulev has to fight the winner of an yet to be announced fight to become the next mandatory! That is all there is, unless there is an unification.

 

I don't think they sent one. Martins advisors would've made him aware of the Joshua route paying bigger cash. That's my guess though based on the money generated in the Whyte Joshua clash.
