He beat dawson.... who was top 5 on some people lists :huh

Now if he beats bhop who is top 3 on some peoples lists :huh

shouldn't he deserves at least top 10 p4p

Hes got skills, heart, chin, power, and speed?

How can you not like this guy?

Yes. If he beats Hopkins, I'd be hard pressed to find 10 guys with better records, sadly.

IMHO if pascal was American, he would already be top 5 P4P

Bull****. If he had beaten Froch, he might be up there, but he lost. He's only a couple years removed from almost getting KOed by Omar Pittman, and since then he's beaten one top fighter, lost to a very good fighter (who arguably has become a top fighter since then), twice beat a very weak titlist and struggled at times against a 44 year old.

He's not in my top 20 yet, and will not be even if he knocks out Bernard Hopkins.

Pascal is probably around 20 right now. If he beats Hopkins, I'd put him 12th behind:
    Mayweather, Pacquiao
    Martinez, Marquez, W. Klitschko
Donaire, Montiel, Bradley, Ward, V. Klitschko, Lopez

His fight with Dawson was the definition of gayness. He proved in that fight he is a slapper, an air puncher, and capable of getting utterly dominated (11th round). Watch the 11th round and check out all the fans who are standing with their hands over their mouth because they are watching Dawson earn a 10-8 round (I scored it 10-9, but looking back it was more one sided with all judging criteria than most 10-8 rounds with no KD's I see).

Herbz, as long as you don't use the term "euro-level", you're the man!

There aren't. But P4P ratings aren't only based on one year's worth of work. The guys ahead of him have been good for longer than Pascal has, and have more good wins on their resumes. I don't care how you want to spin it - there's no way Pascal rates ahead of Pacquiao, Mayweather, Martinez, Marquez or Klitschko. If you want to say #6, then fine, but I doubt he'd be ranked ahead of Donaire either, who has a very similar record on paper but has actually been dominant in his wins.

You can argue that he should be ahead of Lopez and Bradley. They have more depth in their resumes, he has the better top win. Personally I have Lopez and Bradley (and several others - Montiel, Pongsaklek, etc.) ahead of him at this point, but Hopkins would be a good enough win to vault him into my top 10. If I ignored the fact that Pascal lost to Froch, I would have him ahead of Ward, but I don't ignore losses like some people around here seem to. Pascal's wins, overall, are better than Ward's, but the loss pushes him just a hair below Ward. I think I have Ward at #11 and Pascal at #13 right now.

Alright, I will give you Pac,May(who isnt fighting),Martinez,Marquez, and Wlad, but who else?

Donaire beat darchinyan YEARS ago and has done NOTHING since... Hes just beaten up bums that shaw put in front of him....

Pascal has had a give or take fight with froch, beat diacanou, and beat dawson.....

Now he is fighting the guy dawson ducked, bhop......

I think he deserves somewhere in the top 10 IMO

    :patsch

Other way around homeboy. Dawson was chasing Hopkins for YEARS and Hopkins refused to even entertain an offer, said he wasn't enough of a name.

The argument that Dawson ducked Diaconu (which is also ludicrous, considering they actually signed to fight and Diaconu pulled out) has more validity.

Also, Donaire hasn't been with Gary Shaw since the Darchinyan fight. IMO, wins over Sidorenko, Mthalane and Martinez are about on par with wins over Diaconu x2 and Branco. I'll agree with you that most of the rest of the guys he's faced have stunk. When guys records are that close for me, then I start to look more at how they actually performed in the ring, and Donaire has clearly been more dominant than Pascal.

Martinez KO 2 Williams (Ring #5 and Rafael #3 P4P, likely KO of the Year)

Mayweather UD 12 Mosley (Ring #3 and Rafael #3 P4P)

Segura KO 8 Calderon (reigning lineal champ, Rafael #10 P4P, potential Fight of the Year)

    There are three.

Probably got to go Pascal TD 11 Dawson, however that fight is SUPER gay. Pascal is a slapper similar to Calzaghe vs. Hopkins, an air puncher currently unmatched, a hometown fighter similar to Ward, and got one of the biggest ass beatings in a single round that didn't feature a knockdown all year in the 11th... When he dipped chin down when they made mutual in motions to angle his forehead near Dawson's eye sockets. It was not intentional in terms of DQ worthy, but these guys are elite pro boxers who've been doing this since they were 6-ish. He knew what he was doing with his head.
