Or will the buck finally STOP with Paul Williams.

Dzinziruk is loudly calling out for a fight with Paul Williams:

"I'm ready," said Dzinziruk "Just let me know where and when. I think it would be an excellent fight.

The Ukrainian powerhouse is eager to defend 'the real' WBO crown against the American star who is proclaimed as "boxing's most avoided fighter." Dzinziruk, who predicted a Williams win, wants to showcase his boxing ability in the USA to establish himself at the top of the boxing world.
Both Dzinziruk and Williams have similar records, both are good fighters. It would certainly be a interesting light middleweight clash.
Dzinziruk would be willing to delay a unification with Puerto Rican Daniel Santos, a fighter he already beat convincingly, to get a immediate showdown with Williams. The Ukrainian champion wants to prove himself in America and wants to show that Europeans are excellent fighters as well.
Williams, who stated that he could move up or down in weight to face the likes of Antonio Margarito or Floyd Mayweather, now has the opportunity to get rid of the interim title and win the real belt at 154 pounds if he decides to stay at this weight. His promoter Dan Goossen only needs to pick up the phone as WBO champion Sergiy Dzinziruk is waiting for the "Punisher."

So will Williams duck this fight or will the BUCK finally STOP with Williams. Or will he pass the buck.

Lets follow the passing of the buck.

Mayweather avoided Margarito
Margarito avoided Williams

Williams has cut up eyes from Verno and Goosen says he won't fight until May 09. But I am going to laugh if all the Williams fans start talking about risk/reward. Is it fair to use risk / reward as an excuse when you claim to be the most feared man in boxing? The answer is no. Because if you are that good, the "risk" part should be negligible.

If he does duck out of this fight, and say, fight someone inferior instead - I wouldn't call it ducking if he landed a huge fight instead, than Williams goes down as Margarito before him as another guy who steps away from the biggest challenges despite big money on the table, significantly bigger than he would get elsewhere, due to perceived high risk.

Williams ought to take this fight, it is a winnable fight for him if he is even 70% as good as Kellerman thinks he is, than he shouldn't have too much more trouble with Sergiy than he did with Verno.

Also, I think there are plenty of guys at 154 that would fight Paul Williams. Who have they asked? Who has refused? I predict that soon many people will start to call Williams out publicly at 154 especially, and that Sergiy will only be the beginning of a long list.

Let's wait and see... all I know is that Sergiy is one tough SOB and one of the most underrated fighters on these boards.

I like his chances vs. Williams.

williams will be out of action for a while for the cut to heal up..let Dzinzruk unify with Santos and have the winner face Williams in the summer

Well in order for him to protect his reputation I think PTP has to take this fight. With the exception of a clash between Margo, Cotto, Mayweather, or Pavlik he should go after tDzinziruk who is the real WBO 154 champ and show the boxing world that ducks no one who calls him out.

Kellerman compared the aura of a young hungry Tyson to what could potentially become the aura of Williams. Well, for that to happen to any degree (it will never happen the way it happened with Mike who was world famous much younger and stomping decent people out in two rounds) he needs to take these kind of fights and win in thunderous fashion. Or at least take them and win.

If Paul and his crew want to play the over used "most feared" card they need to take the hardest fight out there every time.

Yeah I can accept the cuts as a legit and fair excuse, and the winner of that fight vs Williams sounds good to me.

He said he would fight him, so I'm hopeful he won't. I feel like Williams is not a ducker. He fought Margarito, he tried to rematch Quintana straight away after failing hopelessly. He's stepped up weights all over the place.

I don't think it will be a matter of Paul Williams ducking. It's just whether the promotions can pull it together.

easier said than done. Margarito is the hardest fight out there for him at 147 and that wont happen and they are the #1 and #2 welters in the world. so these guys at other weights really don't have any incentive to fight him. Unless he is ranked or you have a guy with some balls. (insert name Dzinzruk)

but seriously there's always alot more talk than action when it all comes down to it. we'll have to wait and see what comes along first after the cut heals up and he takes a little time off. he did just have 2 fights within two months all away from his weight class where he is a reigning champ.

Well if you go by that line of thinking, than Margarito isn't a ducker as well, he fought Williams, he fought Cotto, Cintron twice etc. You can be a very tough guy who has taken many tough fights and still, duck one or two particular men.

And as far as stepping up recently he gave us Kolle and V Phillips. Ok. Not too bad but not great either.

But he didn't need to step up to middleweight at all. He's made his name at 147 where he has huge physical advantages, there was no need on his part. Okay, so he fought a can but he could have fought a stay busy fight at 147. He looks like a guy that will go out of his comfort zone.

And no, Margarito isn't a ducker. It's not a case of one guy not being a ducker so the other has to be. This isn't a playground.

So I'm hopeful.

I don't know.. A win over Dzidruk puts Paul Williams in the P4P conversation.... Sergiy had a tough time against Konecny, a tough guy himself... So Paul's chances of winning are good in my opinion...
