khan's previous 'opponents' SALITA - too slow / light puncher / padded record / couldn't see amir over that silly beard KOTELNIK - khans best so far but slow light fisted counter puncher couldnt be bothered to chase khan around the ring BARERRA - too old / too small / looked out of shape at weigh in cut early and fought with one eye ***IN - school janitor PRESCOTT - looked like a future hall of fame against khan / exposed as a limited skill slugger in next two fights GOMEZ - khans toughest fight first time we have seen him grit his teeth and carry on even to it was stopped 30 secs into the next round
This content is protected :ko i dont think amir has a glass jaw, i think anyone would have been knocked out by prescott that night. his legs look stronger at this weight whereas i dont think he suited being a lightweight.
doesnt make any difference! nobody is saying khan is great just yet so theres no point comparing records. he is only 23 and he has unbelievable skill already. bring up his record a few years down the line when you can compare him as a fighter who has fought at world level for a few years! khan may be chasing titles now, but he is still at the learning part of his career!
IMO Tonyd407 is on the nail in his posts in this thread, no way Paulie stops Amir in this one. Quite frankly I think that Paulie will do well to survive the 12, as it is a terrible matchup for him. Amir: big, strong (at the weight), fast. good movement and with some pop and stamina, obviously despite the chin disadvantages of Amor, Paulie can only stop him if Amir runs out of gas...no history of that!. Paulie takes it for the payday, and given the potential upside of Khan it doesn't hurt the legacy of Paulie.
It'll be a good fight and we might see how khan can cope with the speed of mallinaggi and whether he can negate it. I can see Khan winning by Majority Decision.
the movable object steps back, then steps in with 5 shots in a second :yep BAM!!! i like paulie but he has to be FAST to win this one!!
Malignaggi's Previous opponents ( to compare and be fair ) DIAZ - handled with ease / wobbled but didnt finish / knocked down DIAZ - boxed beautifully of back foot / took diaz shots easily even tho at a 138.5 c/w and looked gaunt / won easy desicion but blatantly robbed by judges FERNANDEZ - won every round even tho against journeyman / clipped hard in 7th round took it well HATTON - out of his league had a underdogs chance but depleted style due to buddy mcgirt taking away his legs / showed toughness took hattons best didnt get KD or KO N'DOU - slipping visible due to mcgirts training / too flat footed and hair in his eyes but took some big shots and out pointed ndou out of a shell with faster hands / showed he can fight N'DOUJOU - slipping thru mcgirt / showed toughnes nearly knocked out cold in the 7th but fought on showed granite chin N'DOU - soild performance boxed skillfully / great timing / won every round on one card / won ibf belt COTTO - Great Fight earned respect broken cheek bone and cut fought on and made competitive with cotto
Willie Limond was a light hitting super feather, who hurt Khan, so it's possible. Malignaggi does hit harder than Limond, I'm sure. It could happen but it won't. Hoping for a Malignaghi win though.
I dount Malinaggi could knock out a good hot load onto his stomach, never mind a high level professional fighter. I do think he'll win this match though.
The more i think about it, the more i think Khan will stop PM via TKO. Theres nothing in PM's arsenal that i think that can hurt Khan. Its a shame the JMM isn't happening, as that is a much more interesting match up.
