Will Pavlik go to top 10 pound per pound list if he beat Taylor?

I would rank him top 10. He is an undefeated fighter who LOOKS the part.

He would have beaten the most dangerous contender at 160 and then a top 10 P4P fighter who happens to be 'the man'.

He'd sure as hell have the world at his feet.

I'm worried if Taylor doesn't get himself a good defence he'll be in trouble. I know Steward can show him all the things needed to best Pavlik BUT he doesn't want to listen and he has been under Steward for 3 fights or so.

I like Taylor, I really respect him. I don't support him but I always root for his kind. But Pavlik has me intrigued. Miranda is the first fight I really saw of Pavliks.

    I smell racist:blood

I doubt Pavlik will even beat Taylor. But if he did, i'd say it's safe bet that he'd be ring magazine top 10 p4p.

Taylor got a couple of blatant gift decisions against Hopkins and another gift against Wright. Then he went on to stuggle with light-hitting guys moving up from the lower weights. He really shouldn't even be in the top ten.

When Pavlik knocks this FRAUD out, a strong case could made that he's borderline, maybe even in the lower reaches - because although "Gift Decision" Taylor shouldn't really be in the top ten he's on alot of lists.

Shows ya what a lot of hype and some HBO-giftwrappped decisions will do!

Hold up, which of those flaws doesn't Jermain have?

The only thing I'm more than 80% sure of in this matchup is that it goes the distance. Jermain has shown a decent chin, they both are young and should come in top shape, and they'll probably show each other too much respect. As to who wins... right now I'm leaning slightly towards Pavlik.

If Pavlik beats Jermain, then either defends impressively at 160 or moves up and beats a name at 168, he makes top 10 P4P.

I don't know..that's an if..a very big IF. There's a ton of great fights this year so we'll have to see. If he doesn't make it top 10, he's very, very close.

    You say it,mate!

Pavlik hasnt accomplished as much as Abraham has,but people here already start calling him a p4p fighter.
Pavlik has talent.Thats for sure! I dont intend to belittle Pavlik. However,if he stemed from Armenia like Abraham nobody would ever start calling him a potential p4p fighter after countless fights against no-hopers and journeymen and one good fight against Miranda.
The USA and fight fans from there dominate all important fight mags, websites, and so on.
The Ring magazine and websites like boxingtalk are pathetically biased in favour of their home boys. There is no doubt about it!
I may exaggerate a bit,but there are not a lot of posters here on esb who point out that most american fighters are protected and overrated. The truth always hurts,eh!
My tiny Belarus beat the mighty USA in their last encounter at the amateurs.Of course none of the members of the Belarussian squad has turned pro so far,and I guess that none of them will turn pro due to lack of opportunities.
Fighters from the USA are totally overrated. If all the talented fighters from the countries of the former soviet union had an opportunity to turn pro you would hardly be able to find any American name among the top 30 of most weight divisions.
And all the so called all time great from the USA wouldnt be so great if fighters from the soviet union had been able to fight at the pros 20,30 years ago.

Yeah youre right, him beating the **** out of miranda isnt the same as Abraham almost being beaten to death by miranda.

Agreed. In this fight, although his jaw was broken, showed that Pavlik would be clearly the favourite in a fight between AA and Pavlik...

Alot of hatred in this post. Sounds to me you secretly yearn for an american passport.....by the way--abraham isnt as good as u think--wait--didnt miranda give him a run for his money a full 12 rounds? Oh yes--and didnt pavlik lay an ass whooping on miranda that could be hailed fight of the year---so that means abraham is the better fighter than pavlik?? Give me a break--the bouts speak for themselves pavlik would beat abraham because if miranda almost did it--pavlik will definetely.

Now , go get a passport.

Well Tarver hammered RJJ 2 out of 3 times, so therefore whats the point of fighting Hopkins. Oh wait, he did.

Im not talking tarver--this was him saying that abraham would easily beat pavlik and the point was made using miranda. Tarver or Roy has nothing to do it.

He would probably temporarily, but there are very big fights around that time too which means he could be out of there pretty quick come the start of 2008.
