I very slightly favor Wilder to win, but Povetkin definitely deserves to be a slight favorite for the fight. He's got a better resume than Wilder, because, at least in part, he's been around a lot longer. And he's been on a tear against worthy contenders. Which suggests strongly that he hasn't declined at all. But, if Wilder wins, will the Wilder haters suddenly delegitimize the win by claiming he's shot? It happened to Fury after Wlad, and seems to be the favorite excuse whenever a boxer of a certain age loses. How many of the current Wilder haters will accept the victory and give him credit as the clear #3 (or 2, if after his next fight Wlad loses again and retires)?
Im strugglin to believe Wilder wins, as much as i want him to do it. I think Povetkins in some of the best shape of his life thanks to hard work, dedication and a illegal substances. I think Pasha,s a far superior boxer too where as Wilder has never shown me he uses the advantages he has which is height and reach. So if Wilder can go to Russia and beat Povetkin i will have a world of respect for him.
Depends on who you ask, I think there will be a healthy number of haters claiming Povetkin is shot. The same people that said Wilder would duck him are now saying Povetkin is not that good anyway.
Much like Fury's total befuddling of Wlad, I'll be happy to scoop down some humble pie if Wilder beats Povetkin. However I will then wonder why his handlers were so over protective in the way they've managed his career. It won't have made any sense at all.
Most likely. Just like Helenius was Ali/Holmes level shot to some of these fools. I just had a look at that fight and Helenius was landing some serious , head snapping uppercuts on Doohaplas. Shots that would take a lot of men clean out. But apparently his power his completely gone :nut
No, just no, Wladimir reigned unbeaten for a decade, Wladimir battered Povetkin senseless so on what level is beating Povetkin "on par"?
ONLY CHOICES are ****. Wilder is the 2nd best hw right now and there's a very large gap, (a gap so large it shouldn't be allowed) between 1,2 and then very distant 3 Joshua and wilder are 1 and 2, I have no idea who the real #3 is atm. H2h is too hard with all the intangibles.. buy take haye, who would be my #3 right now. The other rival for that spot could be Ortiz.. they all annihilate fury and Wladimir can't even defend himself at his advanced age. Wladimir body can't respond to requests from the brain. He beat an injured haye, a truly injured Haye with a not just fractured big toe he had a shattered compound fractured toe, which means he couldn't put any weight on it and still he was the one that hurt wlad. If he fought round 1and 2, only the first 2 rounds he'd won by tko. Granted he was a 6'3" cruiser and now a full fledged nasty hw. Ortiz might be a

Ortiz might be able to walk through fire for 6 rounds to gut out Haye but I don't see others having any chance vs 2016/18 haye. Even dangerous fights for Joshua and wilder who are light years above the rest of the hw division. Wilder routinely wrecking poverty doesn't change a single thing. Only beating or losing to fighter's I don't expect can make a difference
Really? Joshua and Wilder levels better than the rest in the division? No chance. Fury is top of the division for me.
