All of these Mexicans have been losing to other Mexicans (with the exception of Castillo)! :patsch Morales to David Diaz (mexican-American) Rafa Marquez to Israel Vasquez (Mexican from same city, Mexico D.F.) and Arce to Christian Mijares (Mexican). Its not like they have been losing to Filipino fighters. In fact two good Filipino lost recently, the one against Ulises Solis and Amonsot against Katsidis.:hi:

Following the Ponce De Leon-Gerry Penalosa fight blueprint, it may be a case for Ponce De leon doubling Bautista's output or a case for Bautista doubling De Leon's effectiveness. If the Tarahumara large-shouldered Indian Mexican hurries out into action, swinging hard with his endless supply of batteries and freakish punch output but leaves himself open to get pop shot in between his shoulders and arms like happened in rounds 1 to 3 against Penalosa, he will be had. If the Filipino young gun and Manny Pacquiao heir apparent goes straight at a somber De Leon, using leg movement, closing the distance, getting off and circumventing his more unexperienced opponent like he did against Penalosa from the 6th round on to win a lopsided decision, the WBO/IBA Light-Feather titlist can even catch Boom Boom on the way in like Medina did in the 7th ( when Robert Byrd saved him with a standing 8 count which was not in effect). Great Fight in prospect!

I just hope Bautista will recover fast after this fight.

Ponce De Leon is a much harder puncher, aggressive and looks tough.

I don't think Bautista can outbox him. He will probably be engaged in a slugfest with De Leon, and that would be it for him.

If he fight smart, boxes him off, have patience in shooting his haymakers accurately, he will have a good chance.

If not, it will be a De Leon party.

yeah. boomboom, please go work on some defense now. i know he'll be back soon. but gorres fought nicely on that one. the best thing that happend to the philippines in the world cup is that z's would be opponent backed out. i picked z over guerrero but i thought that ortiz would be too crafty for banal. but when ortiz was picked for gorres, those were two suire wins for the philippines

Like I said in my previous post whoever lands that 1st big bomb then it's over... What an impressive 1st round knockout for Ponce. I thought Boom2X would last a little longer let's say until round 4 then BAM! He got BOOMED.

Simple as that. A punch hit him right on the chin and down he went. If the ref let him get up he would fall down for the third time. Really, what the hell was Bautista's team thinking? They could have milked him some more and hyped him up for another year to earn some money at least. Now he just got knocked out in 1 round on BAD and there are no excuses except for the sad fact that he has a horrible chin.
