well it looks like burns will be fighting a pointless rematch with Mitchell then staying in the UK for several more pointless fights to fight the ***** looking past it no hoper- gavin reese after that he'll proly fight a harrison or maybe a crolla.....face it the guys proly going the calzaghe route of domestic level no hopers until even his mother tells him he needs to take a risk and go to the us. is this going to be his fault? not really it's FW's formula but if Burns wants to be anything in boxing he needs to figure something out before he's 37 with 15 title defenses without even fighting an A level fighter that is unless he's happy to be considered great in the UK and nowhere else. Burns is talented and hopefully he'll break this domestic level nonsense and try to unify, Abril vs Bogere winner, Vazquez, Broner vs Demarco winner.....

If he's smart he will. Small money makes big money. He's one of the best two or three guys in the division. He could pull a calzaghe and make more then enough to last his lifetime. Why waist that in a career ending beating against a guy you have no hope of beating. He has a title. He can put 9k bums in seats. Make a couple mil for 2 - 3 years and by then broners gone and you can get paid out against the much smaller gamboa. Retire. Start a boxing club. Own a bar. Live happily ever after.

I don't think Burns ducked Broner first time around. He just became to big for the weight class, he looks big as light weight, so he was never going to be able to stay at 130 lbs.

Anyway getting to big for a weightclass happen such as Adrien Broner vs Vicente Escobedo. Only difference is Burns wouldn't sign to fight at 130 lbs and then weigh in as a lightweight.
