he needs to fight big fights and often without big time fights he'll never be a star.. he needs to fight donaire, mares or move up to fight gamboa.. heck even a fight with vazquez jr, juanma, or caballero would be a step up for him... he is not a young boxer and is wasting too much time

In the article he says everyone is avoiding him, and its true.

Hopefully after this fight he can get a name to fight.

Rigo's star would have shined a long time ago if his fanbase wasn't limited to 4-5 cubans posting on ESB

The problem is none of these guys want to go anywhere near Rigo. He's probably THE most feared boxer in the wolrld right now. Ultra high risk/ low reward fighter.

In terms of money, but a win over Rigo would give any body a lot credibility amongst true boxing fans, writers, analysts, promoters etc.

I hope he has a star performance, a little competitive at first, but then his skills shine and creates an Amazing TKO...

Then he calls out Donaire... and say Stop running and making excuses if you are the best P4P fight the best.

That's a nice article with some great photos.

Rigo has to leave Bob Arum to achieve his potential and get the big money fights. Arum doesn't believe Cuban fighters can sell and makes little effort to promote them. Before that happens, he has to keep winning, and not only win, but win in spectacular fashion. Ramos was never going make it an exciting fight, and Rigo did well to get rid of him so early. Hopefully Teon Kennedy is more willing to engage.

Or if he's not going to fight big fights he needs to fight more often so he can become the mandatory. There is no excuse for him fighting once a year, he's in his prime.

Donaires been fighting tougher competition and Donaire isn't even from his weightclass. Rigondeux fights maybe once a year and he fights unknown fighters, complete unknowns, like that Irish Casey guy who I never heard of.

Rigondeux is the one fighting bums. If he were fighting every few months that would be one thing but he's fighting one bum a year, in a sub-par performance and then calling out the #3 on the P4P list. He hasn't even earned a spot on the P4P list himself but he has the audacity to call out Donaire?

Rigondeux needs to beat a real undefeated prospect or a real champion. Why doesn't he go fight the Japanese champion? Winner can fight Donaire Mares winner.

Unlike Rigondeux, Donaire is unifying the titles as we speak taking on the IBF champion and putting his WBO belt on the line. Rigondeux is full of **** if he expects us to believe that he can't get a match to unify the titles.

No one is avoiding him. He has the title and everyone wants to take it from him. He's no easier to take it from than Donaire and Mares. It's just he wants to cash out as if he's been boxing pro for 10 years when in reality he's not fighting often enough for people to care about him.

He could be fighting 4, 5, maybe 6 times a year to build up a fanbase but instead he's fighting once a year. On top of that he can't speak english and doesn't seem to be trying to learn. He has been in the USA for years now and still can't speak a lick of english yet he expects to build a fanbase?

Pacquiao has a fanbase because he learned english.

Fighting bums? In less than 10 fights he has faced an ex champ( cordoba) an European champ ( Casey) and won a belt from current champ ( Ramos)....
Your knowledge of boxing is amazing:-(

I can't really dis agree with any you wrote, Rigo definitely needs a highlight win for his career to propel over some very known name.. Arce, Vazquez JR, anything because although the Ramos fight was good... I think that fight was mostly because the problem was Ramos not rigos amazing skills...
