Will RJJ teach Anderson Silva a boxing lesson, or will Silva embarrass him?

Are you nuts? Only if Roy took it easy on him and carried him would it last past 1 round.:deal The difference in skill level is light years apart.

Vernon Forrest would've taken care of Anderson! Schooled him hard.

Winky & Forrest vs. Anderson would've been true boxing lessons by far smaller men!

Tito would've been entertaining as hell up until the knockout (of Anderson, not Tito).

Maybe Oscar should come out of retirement and steal Roy's fight with Anderson lololol.

Too bad no athletic commission would allow it despite the boxing-talent disparity... as the size-difference in weight would be deemed simply too much!

Oscar would've knocked him out with a trademark left-hook. 147lb'er vs. a guy who would have to re-sculpt his body to make just 175lbs! hah.

to be fair. Anderson has improved A LOT (understatement) since 1998.

Even since 2003-05 he's improved a fair bit, as far as his hands go!

however, you shouldn't even need to look at his record.

Silva couldn't hang with any boxer in the top 15 from 147-175. I could only imagine him tyring to fight a guy like PBF who would make him look like a fool. He would get countered to hell beat to the punch jabbed to the body and stopped in the first 6 rounds.

Jones over Silva in a boxing match.
Silva over Jones under MMA rules.

    Simple as that.

    Floyd would be too small.
He would probably still win on account of his amazing talent vs. Anderson's relative lack of in terms of boxing.

    But 5'7 vs. 6'2 & a very rangey 6'2 at that!

150lb'er vs. guy who weighs 200lbs currently on fight night!

One good shot over the course of 12 rounds would be enough to put Floyd out.

Good luck finding an athletic comission who will do that in any major boxing-state in the US!

yes, he improved as an mma fighter (his jiujitsu most -- back in PRIDE his jiujitsu sucked).

however, in all seriousness, he actually improved his hands quite a bit!
Before he would not have been able to hang with Rogerio (boxing) sparring at Minotoro training cntr in Rio. Now, he can. I didn't say he has improved them to the level of a good pro boxer though now, did i!

Freddie Roach also said he saw a lot of talent in Anderson. (though did not talk of a crossover like he did with Arlovski, key difference :D).

People like you have never been close to a boxing gym. Elite guys in boxing would have no problems with Silva even with his size. A guy like PBF would make Silva his ***** in the ring. First off Silva would be nothing but a slow moving target wide open for PBF. He would get beat to the punch countered with his wide slow shots and hit clean and often. PBF would go to his body and break his ass down. Not to mention he couldn't hit PBF with radar. PBf would toy with this dude, he would get the beating of his life until they stopped it. It would be hilarious.:rofl

Good footwork for MMA but not suited for a boxing ring. He wouldn't have a clue as to how to cut the ring off. He would be beffudled at the angles PBF was attacking him from and freeze up go into a defensive shell. People that have never been in a boxing ring before just don't understand how good these guys are. PBF would be too fast for Silva and would thoroughly thrash him. It wouldn't be pretty for Silva.

You are assuming that when he is able to set his feet thanks to boxing's rules that his hands and head movement wont improve.

You have no idea how he fights when he is fighting within the well confined rules of boxing.

I really love these threads. Since I have such a diverse background my mind simply starts to wander a one sentence point leads to another and another and another. I'm sure the strict boxers hate it though.
