Its only natural justice for Dave Ryan to get another chance at Hibbert. Lets hope the injury isnt a career-ending one though. Has Ryan spoken about what happened? What went wrong?
Haven't heard about the extent of the injury but I really hope he gets the rematch. He was winning the fight comfortably and performing well until his back went.
He deserves a rematch. Actually he did not deserve to lose. If he quit by injury, he should have won on the scorecards.
Well maybe its time to look again at how fights are scored. Seems ridiculous to me that you can literally win every round yet have 'L TKO' on your record. Maybe if its medically verified by doctors as a genuine injury the fight should go to the guy who won whatever number of rounds it went??
But it would take time to medically verify a back (and many other types) injury and there would be a difference of opinion between doctors. And if that was a rule, an underdog or tiring fighter could be up on the scorecards and when the other fighter is coming on strong fake an injury and go to the scorecards knowing they've won.
