Canelo will have to win a title in three weight classes to match cotto so he'll have to go all the way up to 168. So no i dont see him doing any of that besides he's protected so much that i doubt he'll ever fight a live body.

to have canelo and cotto in the same sentence is offensive.
canelo may be good in the future...but Coto has been great all his career.
after Canelo fights someone like margarito( twice)mosley,judah,foreman,pacquiao,mayorga,cotley...then we will talk.

Nope, let's see how many weight classes he jumps and is successful. I can't even see Canelo being good at 160. I think Chavez Jr. beats him.

Skill-wise yes. But Cotto has a very strong resume that won't be easy to match. Why not though, Canelo's young, talented and willing to learn.

Let's remember Cotto before the first Margo fight, was seen as a complete monster. There seemed to be no holes in his game. At the time he was thought to have the best shot at beating Mayweather. I think Canelo has the potential to be held in high regard much like Cotto was being that he is so young, and has accomplished so much already. With the current opposition out there today coupled with his age I think he can eventually surpass Cotto.

i see him getting destroyed brutally by someone in the next few years, he's wide open and got rocked by a former jr lightweight.....when a big punching MW hits him flush he's gonna go to sleep.

No Cotto was a great skilled fighter with a terrific body attack out of the gate, Alvarez is gonna be protected for another 2 years and then lose to any meaningful fighter they built him up to face.
