Poor Walter Castillo... Al Haymon must hate his friggin guts, he put him in with Amir Imam, and yes while Imam may have just been brutally exposed by Adrian Granados, to say he doesn't hit hard, you'd be deluding yourself. Well Walter walked through everything Imam threw and just soaked it up, barely batting an eye. Imam won easily, but he never put Castillo down. Then a few months later Castillo was matched against savage Japanese KO artist Keita Obara, who proceeded to basically beat the living snot out of the poor Nicaraguan punching bag, personally I think the match should have been stopped around the 9th, the beating he took towards the end was vicious, yet somehow... he was still standing at the final bell, and he even managed to get a horrible nonsensical draw for the beatdown he'd just endured. Was it Haymon paying him back for the beating he took against Imam? I'm still trying to figure out the reasoning behind that one.:conf But now on July 15th he will step in the ring with the Kazakhstani battering ram known as Sergey Lipinets, who has KO'd 8 of his 10 opponents. He had Haskell Rhodes out on his feet for the last 2 rounds of their match, by all rights that match should have been stopped. Then in his last match he went toe to toe with The Wolf Levan Ghvamichava, who is fairly durable and not featherfisted himself, Levan who's trained by the incredibly boogery Virgil Hunter got his ass fold in half with a Lipinets body shot, Ghvamichava had never been stopped before, and Lipinets in stopping him really made it count, he was down for a few minutes. So can Lipinets pull off the feat two other KO artists before him failed to achieve.:think And there's the possibility he gets exposed and KO'd himself. So how do you all see this match playing out?
I just discovered Lipinets before his fight with Rhodes. Glad to see he is fighting soon after the wolf stoppage. Thanks for the heads up and breakdown on his opponent.
I think Castillo is a little too stationary to take Lipinets bombs for 10 Rounds, eventually he'll wear down and get TKO'd, Rhodes would have been KO'd as well, had he not ran for the first 5 rounds of the fight.
Quality assessment...:good Castillo has a habit of planting his feet in concrete, which will play right into Lipinet's hands, err fist. Castillo wont hear the final bell, Lipinet TKO 7 is my prediction...!!!
