After being stopped by a jab from Pulev, you have to wonder if Skelton will actually try to fight vs Dallas or come for the payday. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzRlxQckOGY[/ame]
he definitely threw the fight vs pulev and his ambition has to be taken into question here. if the going gets tough, we may see him go down from another jab again
The roughness and toughness that was his game, has almost gone. I don't think that will come back. No shame in that, the edge gets knocked off everyone if they stick around long enough.
The guy is in his forties now, not much left. He was pretty old when he started boxing. He actually over-achieved in boxing. English, British, Commonwealth, European Champ and World Title Challenger. Not bad.
Sometimes a bit of a break for fighter can be good, let's him get his mind straight again and gives any niggling concurring injury a break to heal . I know he's getting on a bit but Skelton's no fool even before boxing he was a top Muay Thai fighter with bags of ring experience, so if his first fight back is Dallas he's confident and is thinking Price next and back in the mix for possible biggish pay days to retire on. Good enough motivation for an older fighter. For whoever gets in the mix of the British heavyweight scene over the next years could encounter some big paydays in the UK and Europe. Price, Fury, Chisora and possibly infinity and beyond!? Dallas has a bit of power but not much else. Skelton'll come to fight, he pretty much always has.
He has definately over acheived consideringly his skill set and the fact that nobody wanted to see him fight. Dallas will beat him but Dallas isnt very good either. They should both go do the circuit in Germany.
What the hell was that from Skelton ? Being stopped by a jab to the stomach ? :huh Thats not the Skelton i remember ...
