In Quebec? Absolutely. Even UFC realized there was a huge pool of fighting sports fans over there.

Pascal's fan base is not as huge as Bute's, who's seen 16000+ ppl at his fights. Fans saw how Bute dominated Bika, and since Ward is considered by many to be the S6 favourite, fans would have loved to make comparisons first hand.

How's this: maybe not 7500, but say the exact same attendance there was in Oakland. Everybody wants Ward to fight outside the States, that was a prime opportunity - without money being an issue. :smoke

not convinced, but even if it was an opportunity, do you think Bika's promoter brought it up? Probably not. And why would Goosen? It wouldn't have been an exciting announcement that brought anymore reason to watch. So let's not say Ward ducked fighting in Canada lol.

:lol:Bragging that JC beat the corpse of Roy Jones after JC said he would never fight him in his autobiography and at least one other time on record because JC admitted that RJ was shot to ****,and then years afterwards, took the easy payday and fight him? God bless you:lol:.

Ok, let's not say that but it's another "could have" for me... wish Showtime had established ground rules with respect to # of fights vs home/away/neutral venues. It got -and still is- out of control, so I'll hate on Showtime exclusively for that. Outside a tournament, I don't give two shits if Ward's promoter puts more money on the table and arranges for the fight to be in Oakland... a tourney is great because it's supposed to be regulated strictly. I haven't seen that happening so far... Ward-Dirrell and Ward's homefights / biased entourage are two prime examples IMO. But again, I don't hate Ward, I hate Showtime for it.

Ward is the typical US hype job. Yes he won a medal at the olympics but so did Audley Harrison so that doesn't mean ****.

Showtime want him to win the S6 and so far have done everything to make it happen. What makes me laugh is when he said that he has earnt the right to fight at home!! How the **** has he done that? By fighting at home. Froch has earent the right to fight at home by facing Taylor in the states (his FIRST defense), Kessler in Denmark and the Abraham away from home. Due to the semis and finals having to be in the states (which I understand and agree with) Froch would have fought (if he makes the final) 1 out of 5 fights away from home, and he was the champion going into the S6. Ward on the other hand wasn't a champ or #1 contender and would have fought all of his fights in his home town.

How anybody can defend him is a joke.

Typical US hypejob?NOBODY thought he was going to win the tournament going in as he was considered too green. And please don't mention Froch-Taylor again as anything significant.Since exposed Kelly Pavlik beat Taylor's ass before Froch did.

The fact that Froch went to the states for his first defense and got off the floor so it is significant.

How can you claim Ward hasn't been hyped? Showtime have let him have everything his way and they are building him to be the next big american ppv star. He was tipped to make the final when the original announcement was made

Kessler was the betting favorite to win this tourney and Ward whipped him handily. Please don't ever use Fraudley's name and Wards in the same sentence.

Froch got off the canvas against a guy that was destroyed beforehand by since exposed (and drunken)Kelly Pavlik. That is fact.No one can deny it.Not even you.So what he traveled to fight Taylor?Taylor had been previously exposed by since exposed Pavlik.Stop giving Froch credit for such an overrated win.You want to give Froch credit for a terrific win?Give him credit for beating Pascal the way he did(although that was a dirty fight).THAT was a terrific win.CERTAINLY not Taylor. And I live here in the States:going into the tourney NOBODY and I mean NOBODY that I know of thought Ward had a shot. Now many think he may.

Fraudley's name gotta be mentioned because he was considered a legitimate contender for Haye's title,so he's gotta be perceived as legitimate even though we all knew the truth going in.Now,THAT'S HYPE.Oh that's right. It was GOOD BUSINESS on Haye's part.I'm sorry.I forgot.

I never said that the Taylor fight was his best win. I mentioned it because he has done something that ward so far hasn't done which is fight away from the comforts at home and come through it.

I think ward is the third best smw behind froch and bute. One day he may make it at the elite level but he is going to have to take some risks

Just answer these two simple questions:

1- Which country is widely considered the boxing capital of the world?

2- Which country does the #1 pound for pound fighter in the world (not Mayweather) fight in? (It sure isn't ****ing England) Bonus question: Do you know WHY??

If a tournament involves EVERY fighter having to fight away from home at least then Ward should fight away from home

    Aint rocket science
