Where should Ward-Green have taken place? How about Ward-Dirrell? How about Ward-Bika, in which Bika was a last minute replacement for Dirrel? Like you said, "ain't rocket science"
Pacquiao is American? I've come to the conclusion that, really, only idiots who don't know a damn thing about boxing are complaining about major venues like Vegas, Atlantic City, Madison Square Garden as "hometown advantages" in the US.
Really? How many of Calzaghes fights where in Wales? You do know that's different from England right? Or am I giving you too much credit?
As different as New York from California. England and Wales are both under the United Kingdom, right? Am I giving you too much credit?
I'm not saying those fights shouldnt have taken place there, i said at least one of his fights in the tournament should be away from home ( not Oakland ) Why should one fighter have all his fights at home and not the others, fair enough Green, Bika at home, but in that case, the Kessler fight shouldve been elsewhere
When did i make a complaint like above you cretin, i said that he shouldnt fight all his fights at home, his home is Oakland
Different countires though. If North America was under one flag would an American fighting in Canada be considered fighting at home? Nah, didn't think so.
So which one is it then? Now you're back to Oakland instead of United States? I posed the original question to pugilist 64, which you answered for yourself. According to him (and your post), Ward fighting anywhere in the United States was a problem. I don't take issue with criticizing ward for fighting out of Oakland, but I do take issue with people criticizing Ward for not fighting outside the United States when it doesn't make sense.
I asked which country the #1 pound for pound fighter in the world (not mayweather) fights out of, and why, and you replied "..maybe because he's American?" If you don't know why Manny Pacquiao fights in the boxing capital of the world, and not England or Germany, then you have alot to learn.
The problem here is the definition of "country" being used out of context. Wales is NOT a country in the same definition as the United States as a country, which is an independent nation-state. That North American analogy fails. Wales and England are both lesser state-level municipalities under a united federal government (the United Kingdom). Just like California and New York. Wales doesn't have any greater powers moreso than New York as a lesser state under a federal hierarchy. Both have representation in a federal government body, and are basically on the same level REGARDLESS of what names you assign them. Country, state, whatever.. I suppose the Welsh like country better because they were annexed and were never really part of British culture and history. If you refer to Wales as a country, in which many people do, then you can only refer to that context (separate municipaility) WITHIN the United Kingdom. Trying to portray Wales/England as a separate country in comparison to other nation-states FAILS, and is really just silly semantics. Wales is NOT a separate nation-state, this is common knowledge but some people like to stress Wales is a separate "country" like the United States is a separate country from Canada, when IT IS NOT.
End of the day, comparing USA to England/ Uk is a waste of time due to the size difference It all comes down to this: If Froch, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham all fought away from home is it not right that Ward should have at least one fight way from home ?
