how to you think sultan will fight? will he stay outside and try to counterpunch like in his last fights against briggs and holyfield or will try to go on the inside where klitschko is not as strong and throw some wild hooks and uppercuts? my opinion is that his cautious style won't work because klitschko would pound him with his jab and win every round on the other hand sultan will be careful to trade because he knows about wlads power, we was cautious against briggs and even against holyfield. what do you think he will do?

Well, fighting at range is insane. Wladimir has the longer reach and the better outside game, even with Sultan being a fiddly southpaw. Can't stay out there for long at the end of those wrecking balls.

Trying to stand toe-to-toe is also dangerous since Wlad will lean on and wear him out with his extra height and size. Sultan would also run the risk of getting an uppercut or two zinging up under his chin. Wlad's not quite so talented up-close but enough to ruin Sultan's day.

So I guess the best thing he can try to do is to get in-and-out quickly and fight at mid-range. Work on parrying and dodging the jab and stepping inside, lash out with hooks and get back out again. Try to push Wladimir into coming at you and look to catch him out with the left straights and hooks when he does. Hit whatever you can reach and don't neglect the body. Uppercuts could be invaluable.

In reality, I fear Sultan's actual tactics will involve repeatedly trying to break Wladimir's jab with his head before collapsing from a right hand.

Yes. Sultan’s best chance is to move around a lot, and leap in with power shots early in the fight. Sultan can not beat Wlad the way he beat Holyfield or Briggs. To win, I think Ibragimov must fight the way he did vs Lance Whitaker. Wlad is not going to beaten by distance out fighting.

Coach Steward said Wlad is very hard to beat, and is the most fast handed / two fisted/ long reached / coordinated puncher he was worked with. Steward also says Wlad more than any other fighter he has coached makes you fight his fight.

Being the smaller man, by quite a sizeable margin, it stands to reason that Ibragimov will have to get inside in order to land anything.

    Duh!

But seriously, I think he'll run for most of the fight, and will probably try to weasel his way inside near the end of each round and land a few combos, then quickly slide back out. This will leave the best impression on the judges if done in the final seconds of the round, before Wlad can do anything in retaliation.

-Keep moving, laterallly, on the outside, then slip in and counter after he's just missed, deliver your payload, then slip out, and repeat-......................If you think about it, that's about all a smaller man can do against a bigger, more powerful fighter who has tremendous power, speed, and reach.

I see Sultan using a few different techniques against Wlad. I see him starting off head-butting his left fist, and after a round or two mixing the occasional head-butt to his right fist.

Say what, stay outside and try to outbox WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO?

I don't know what will he do be I know what should he do or try at least:

JUMP right on Klitschko, throw a lot of punches on the inside, not let Wlad push him off, move Wlad to the ropes, rip his body then aim for the head, walk through the jabs and start it all over again...

It's hard to see how Sultan could pull it off but I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if some great punches would stop Klitschko.

Sultan is no Sam Peter, he is tougher, more intelligent. Of course not at all bigger, and his poor foot and body movement is bad against a good, big, strong fighter like Wowa so unless Klitschko runs into something big (which could happen) Klitschko should win this on points or by late stoppage.

Fights between boxers from the Soviet school usually turn out boring, ugly as they are perfect in counterpunching aggressive fighters but really not good if their opponent is another Russian-schooled counter-puncher.

For the sake of Sultan Jeff should better find out something, and fast.

I see very little way that Sultan can stop himself from getting KO'd in this fight.

Iggy implements Jeff Mayweather's fight gameplan - moving, getting in and out, landing with str8 left hands, and never allowing his opponent to impose any sort of physicallity on him. You can connect right hands on him - Briggs with two that momentarily shook him in the first round in AC, Holyfield with one in the twelve round in Moskow - b'sides it's Ibragimov in run-out-the-clock defensive mode and circling to his right that can make it out for him, not trading with a guy who has reach, weight and height advantages... If Sultan moves to his right, Wlad can't jab a target moving in the opposite way from his jab cuz simply you can't take a step to your left and jab on that move at the same time. I guess it's still a situation where Iggy can get caught with Wlad's right as he gets inside to land his own left.

Ibragimov is so cautious, against much lesser fighters and punchers than Wlad

He might try and get inside the jab at first, but when he feels the weight of Wlad leaning on him he'll quickly give that up. Then he'll back off a bit and realise he has no hope as he gets peppered by the jab

    Tactics = RUN

That will probably mean he survives a good 8 rounds, but eventually Wlad will land the right hand

i think the only way ibragimov can win is by mixing it up and trying to spark klitscho.

He couldn't mix It up against Holyfield, Wlad will destroy him.
