Will Terence Crawford Fight Errol Spence?

It’s not spin. For the avoidance of doubt Spence is multi-dimensional know for many things including power but not exclusively power. He is a highly skilled boxer puncher.

Spence used to be more of a pressure fighter, more aggressive

Against the two Garcia's he was very cautious in his approach and didn't look anywhere near getting the stoppage. He's not a power puncher but has respectable power.

His main attribute is his athleticism

 

the stuff i see in spence, most others dont see, or just never noticed. i read comments like "spence is flatfooted", or "spence is slow", and i just shake my head wondering wtf are they looking at? the guy has some of the quickest legs in boxing. just because he dont use them defensively doesnt mean he cant, it just means hes there to smash not be cute. or he has bad defense, never taking into account that he puts himself in the line of fire more than others because he is confident enough to not fear your punches as he sets out to do what he does. the guy can do it all, but he prefers to make his strength and work rate be the deciding factor in most fights. and it usually is. unless he just wants to outbox you, like he did mikey.

 

No in both fights he put the guys in a hole they could not advance like they wanted to because his strength put them in a shell and ultimately they tried to survive as they could not win. His performance was more impressive than had he stopped Mickey Garcia early. It showed he has many dimensions. Yes he is good athlete but don’t let’s gets this ****ed his main attribute is his well rounded game. He can beat you several ways.

 

Excellent analysis spot on. In addition people don’t realise he can decide basically to shut Pacquiao down in the upcoming and if Pacquiao gets desperate and jumps he will get clipped. In fact there is an excellent chance Pacquiao gets clipped in this fight.

I don't no what rock u have been hiding under all this time, but the A side always get the bigger share. Crawford knows this! If him and Spence fight next, Spence will have the IBF, WBC and the ring magazine title, while Crawford has only the WBO, which is the lowest title. 60/40 Spence will be generous!

Crawford has tired of it and unfortunately seems to be settling for what ever easy money is out there under his top rank deal

 

He obviously isn't slow and yes he does have quick feet and I wouldn't describe him as flat footed. But his mobilty is limited. He shows little lateral movement, when he does move it's in straight lines, and because he has such a wide footed stance he can't move out of the way well, which is why he's less effective when backed up.

He's great and doing short little quick half steps, often to set up counters but when Porter and Brook really pressed him made him move more than that quick first step he's vulnerable.

Fast feet doesn't mean good movement. People tend to confuse that, good movement is also about foot placement and where you move. I like to use the example of Wlad and Vitali vs Peter to prove this. Wlad has faster feet than Vitali but he spend much of the fight with Peter backing up and on the ropes, while Vitali with his slower feet but better placement kept Peter in the centre of the ring for the vast majority of the fight unlike his brother because he kept side stepping and turning Peter when rushed while Wlad all too often just backed up.

Spence isn't a slick boxer and never will be the comparisons to Mayweather early in his career were ridiculous, he's more a pressure fighter, just a tall, rangy and very fundamentally sound one at that too. The early comparisons to Mayweather kind of back fired and hurt him because people will just see where he's lacking compared to Mayweather. I see him more like a more aggressive Winky Wright, southpaw, high guard, good work rate, defensively very sound, works the body and very skilled at what he does. I see Spence as a top P4P fighter but he'll never be at the very top or seen as a generational talent like Mayweather or Pac, he's a level below that.

you still dont recognize that style is what dictates movement. and spence can fight any style, if he wants to. he doesnt move his legs like floyd, although he can, as he showed vs mikey, but thats not his preferred game. but you will be seeing it again, when he moves to 154. his style is pressure, crowding, depleting. floyd legs serve no purpose in that style. why would you expect him to be constantly hopping around when his style is to pressure you where he can dig to your body and deplete you? why? when floyd fought like spence vs mosely, he didnt do it cause he had no legs, he did it cause that was the style he used vs the old dude, but he could have certainly hopped his way around like you expect to see from spence. you have to understand what the fighter is trying to do, then judge what you see within that style. you cant just say, well he dont do that thing that other style can do so obviously he aint got what it takes. it dont work that way.

 

and speaking of floyd and wide stances, go look at some video of him.

 

You can say he can move like that but I've never seen it. When he has been backed up, instead of narrowing his stance and boxing on the back foot he's just dug in and ground them down while being out scored and then turned it around, sure that might be a choice on his part but until he's proven he can move well laterally and box well off the back foot it's just pure conjecture that he has that in his arsenal.

 

do me a favor and just glue your eyes to spences legs. dont look at anything else. does that look slow to you? does that look like it only moves in one direction to you? keep in mind, everyone reading can do the same and gauge reality themselves, along with our ability to analyse.
