Won the title from streaking Undisputed champ Stevie Johnston (P4P #9)
Beat Top Lightweight Joel Casamayor (#1 at the time, WBC Champ)
Avenged his loss to Diego Corrales with one punch
Arguably has a W over Floyd Mayweather

Beat top contenders such as Juan Lazcano, Julio Diaz, Cesar Bazan, Herman Ndgoujo

    :huh

I say yes. I think his career was cut short because he was in the greatest fight of all time. That alone should put him in there.

I agree with this man. It was an epic fight. I've really no problem wiith Gatti getting in because of all his epic high profile wars, and Castillo was a great champ and in epic fights.

He absolutely deserves it, on his own merits.

There will be multiple HOFers on that resume, don't worry. ;)

I agree with all of that.

It really is an underrated lightweight era IMO, lots of high quality guys there. Shame we never got Freitas against any of the top dudes besides Corrales, think Corrales did something to him mentally.

Im undecided about gatti. I guess it comes down to what you think the hof represents. Castillo was a much better fighter than gatti whih was evident in their resumes and fights against pbf. Castillo was one level lower than barrera and morales but those guys are not only hofs but atgs.

Castillo was an awesome fighter. I'd have no issues with him being inducted. Him at his prime vs. the Marquez of the Diaz fight would have been terrific.

Exactly. If he had an official W over Mayweather though, I think he would have been on par with MAB and Morales, considering it'd be the best W any of them would have had.

    But, you know...judges.
