Will the crowd really be that hostile towards Kessler?

I've heard Hearn and Froch going on about the crowd being hostile towards Kessler but will it really be that hostile?

  2. I'm expecting a hostile and noisy crowd
Not because of dislike to Kessler, more fever pitch for a big fight that for once promises to deliver

I'd expect so, I don't think it will affect Kessler in the slightest though

depends how many tickets fell into danish hands too. Not heard much talk of it lately so guessing the '5000 viking army' line was bollocks?

Hostile the wrong word anyway, similar to Froch-Bute there's no real grudge angle. Pretty sure there'll be rabid support for Froch again though. Semantics I suppose.

Exactly. Just heard Hearn on Ringside completely airbrush the fact Kessler fought in front of over 50k in the Millennium Stadium; but since it was on Setanta nobody else on the prog sought to mention that oversight. He said that on Saturday Kessler will have never experienced anything like it before after having only faced people like Ward in their own backyards.

Have been to the O2 a few times and the Millennium Stadium quite a few times, including Calz-Kessler. Saturday will not affect Kessler at all after his fight against Calzaghe. In fact, he's already stated that that experience will make him calmer and this time he will not let the crowd affect him when his hometown opponent's punches miss but still get the crowd going.

Surely Sauerland must have sold a fair few tickets to the Danes? No?

there will be boos 'cause there will be a lot of casuals attending, tanked up, and just people wanting to make things a bit uncomfortable for the opponent of their guy. It won't be that bad though 'cause Kessler is not a guy that is easy to dislike. He's not controversial, he's not a bad guy and the booing will be more of a pantomime thing rather than genuine hostility.

Yeah unforunately. I await the reaction to that with eagerness.

Mind you, I recall the Danes booing the **** out of the UK anthem the first time they fought. But maybe I'm mistaken because that sort of thing only happens in the UK, and Denmark is a civilised country and not at all like us thuggish Brits.

I just hope they give Mikkel respect after the fight, whether he wins or loses - as the guy deserves it.

Kessler will be fighting an English fighter in England. Not rocket science is it?
