Many heavyweights back in the day were really Light heavyweights and borderline cruiserweights. Which why it is obvious Kovalev and Beterbiev would have dominated the heavyweight scene had they competed in the 30's and 80's.

    Like 67 fights too.
And very few complete cans either.
He's beat a lot of journeyman and club fighters and prospects but not a lot of Harold Sconier or Jason Gavern types on his CV.

    80s.....

I'm a huge Kovalev fan, and while I completely agree he'd beat Spinks at any weight, he'd be far pressed to survive 3/4 rds with prime Tyson.
And Holmes....11/12 rds. Sergey ain't hurting Holmes or consistently getting past his jab.

Beterbiev. He hasn't shown the ability to punch from the defensive posture, so how does he do vs a non stop murderous puncher like Tyson.

    Sorry bro.
I'm as non partisan as they come and love the EE search and destroy style, but a great big man almost always beats a great little man.

Point taken bout the 30s though.

Yeah I hear you, Beterbiev is ideally a cruiserweight though, he could fill out his frame and compete at cruiserweight. Kovalev and Beterbiev
I meant to say, had they competed in any era from the 30's to the 70's, they could realistically compete with the people there since the size difference is not too grand.

70s would be a lot to ask as well.
They'd be top 10s no doubt, but even today, there's no CW in the world that beats prime ALI.
