Let's say for example Briedis and Gassiev fight in the final, Briedis has beaten Kudryashov, Makabu or Andrew Tabiti and Gassiev has beaten Wlodarczyk, Glowacki or Huck, would that be enough for Briedis and Gassiev to be the number 1 and 2 fighters?

He's one of the best CWs today. It wouldn't be the true #1 against the #2 guy.

Maybe, but i'm trying to say is that if Briedis and Gassiev get wins wins over top fighters , will they be the 2 best in the divison with their wins.

It again comes down to one fighter not fighting the best, and the others are.
Hes the Lucian Bute of S6

Are you talking about Usyk? You can't be.

Certainly would they would both have the strongest claim to 1 and 2 with the strongest resumes.

Resume counts far more than fantasy so Usyk would have no real claim, unless Glowacki or Mchunu somehow made the final.

If he's not in the tournament and the rest are then he's irrelevant and should not be considered top of the division, just a paper champ.

Gassiev will be the lineal and man of the division when the dust settles

Let's not talk about 'lineal', let's just say 'THE champion'. Lineal has no practical value in the modern era.
The winner of this tourney is definitely THE champion. Usyk doesn't get it for beating a few B graders. The others are busy chasing greatness.

    I am.
At the moment it seems like some of the best fighters will be tied up in the tournament.
Doesn't leave many options for Usyk.
