I disagree with some of Ali's antics, for sure. But generally he was a superb self-publicist that didn't cross the line.

As for Tyson, maybe he wasn't witty. But charismatic? Hell yeah. He is supremely quotable.

British fight fans back their fighters to the hilt. Not because they are exciting, but because they've made it to the top and are proud of the fact. The fact he's sold so many tickets isn't down to how exciting Haye is, but more down to Klitschko's popularity in Germany. Did Haye even sell out his fight against Barrett?

Save the Heavyweight Division from what? The Soviet Domination?
    Don't bet on it.

I don't see Adamek having too much success in the HW division. He could probably beat Valuev and have a competitive fight with Chagaev, but he would be chanceless against the K-bros.

i agree that the hw division is not all that bad (two good/great champs, a drop off, then povetkin, and possibly haye and dimentrenko--again possibly--could be decent contenders, but then a lot of average contenders). but it cannot hurt if some fit cruisers who could translate to hw fighters move up. just do not know which crusiers can make an impact. bell and mormeck most likely not and adamek is too small and gets hit too much to make a big impact imo. maybe ola and fields (longshot, where is he?) could add some mass and make an impact?

We dont need more undersized HW's.

I look at it from one perspective.Does the guy moving up have a chance to beat the top dogs?Who cares if they can beat a OK fighter or two if they dont match up well against the top dogs than it is pointless to move up.

    Roy
    Toney
    Adamek
Mormeck..etc dont stand or never stood a chance against the Lewis' or Klitschko's of the world.

The problem with the heavys, is once wlad an vitali beat a boxer at hayes level, we find out his level sucked from the experts, an hayes (or someone like him) wouldn't of even sparred with micheal moore,,,,,,so the probelm is the bro.s are hated for having such god given talent

1 major difference here though. Both Moorer and Holyfield were not long time CW's and LHW's.Moorer went to HW 2 years into his career Holyfield 4 years in.Both filled out as HW's.And i dont want to degrade Holy here but the steroid **** is in the air.

Roy,Toney,Adamek,Mormeck have been at lower weight classes for years.

Holyfield 24 year career-4 years spent below HW.

Moorer 20 year career-2 years spent below HW.

Big difference as to what they did and what some people are asking for.Keep in mind the champ's are bigger than they have ever been.

Styles make fights.... Vitali/Lennox matched up made for an exciting fight... However, Vitali/Gomez you cant say the same about.... It doesn't take one heavyweight to revive the division.... Ali had Frazier and Foreman.... Lennox had Holyfield and Tyson.... I think a guy like Dimitrenko matches up well with Vitali..... I don't think we'll be getting any more exciting Wlad fights...

As for Cruiserweights.. Adamek, Cunningham, Bell, Mormeck.... I don't see none of them making a big splash at heavyweight.... Adamek might have Jirov success at heavy....

Juan Carlos Gomez was a better Cruiserweight than Haye and bigger and he could not do squat at Heavyweight.

The top Cruiserweights can help the HW division but the rest will probably serve as fringe contenders/journeyman, so yes and no.
