WBA President Mendoza has recently stated that they are waiting to release their decision regarding a request by Jacobs camp to change the purse split. Mendoza has expressed interest in keeping both camps happy and that the WBA would release the results if the fight goes to a purse bid. IMO he seems very dead set on this fight happening and willing to do anything to make it happen. Currently the negotiation period ends on October 22 as it has been extended.

Jacobs is asking for too much.

Look, Floyd Mayweather 30M, Maidana 3M. 90/10 split.
If you put a 75/25, Maidna is getting 8.25M

I think they will amend it yeah.

This is the best fight that is realistically available.

Saunders has said he'd be ready to fight him after his next fight as well.

Could be some big fights on the horizon if he compromises the split a bit.

I personally do not believe Jacobs should get more than 25%. He isn't a belt holder ( only in his mind) but a glorified #1 contender. I am just stating what WBA President Mendoza seems to be conveying. They seem to really want the fight and if they were shooting down the request they woukd just do it. GGGs team asked for a purse bud while Jacobs team requested the split be altered. The WBA then extended the negotiating period and stated they would release their decision regarding a purse split percentage change when the purse split is ordered.

The only reason I see for GGG to give up more than 25% is to guarantee that the fight would be on HBO. Otherwise if Haymon or Showtime outbid HBO we might see GGG vacating a title.

I thibk there is a good chance the WBA will amend the split so no one pulls out. I think it would be in the best interest of GGGs camp though to give Jacobs a higher percentage to ensure the fight is on HBO. Otherwise if Haymon or Showtime wins a purse bid it might be GGG that vacates.

    evidently not.

The WBA keeps the 75/25 split, so Jacobs will probably pull out after the pursebid

I can see Jacob's fear of taking career-ending damage, but then again he isn't a big draw. GGG should offer him 1/3, that'd be reasonable.

The reality is Jacobs doesn't want it. Kell brook stepping up makes Jacobs look like a *****.
