    After his latest antics?:think

This may have already been discussed..... In which case... My apologies.

But ... Mundine has seemed to lead a charmed life (with a possibility of a little cash under the table..... Nasser is capable of anything) with the IBO.

I'm wondering if they will say now.... **** off.... You aren't bigger than the sport of Boxing....

As we all know, Mundine is a relatively big fish in a small pond here in Oz, and as such is able to have an unhealthy amount of influence in far too many aspects.

    This content is protected
But they are a business after-all, and it would be a pretty big call regardless of the endless b/s served up by team Mundine.

There's no need to wipe Mandy, the IBO just need to stick to their rules, which they just did.
Mandy simply needs to be treated like anyone else, not the hotshot that he thinks he is.

    A few things...:

    1. Mundine has treated the IBO very poorly. He certainly hasn't been their poster boy, even in oz. Refuses to rematch Geale when ordered to do so and walks out on the Medley title a week out from the fight with suspicioun he was never going to make the weight.

    2. This highlights how useless and flawed the IBO "computerised ranking system" actually is. I've been saying this for ages, yet Phil (god bless him) and others hang their hats on them as being far more impartial and fair than other orgs ratings.

If Mundine was made to fight at jnr middle BEFORE getting a title shot, then the IBO would never have found themselves with a title but no fighters 1 week before the fight. they could have had proof that Mundine can make 154...and sanctioned a title fight based on this. If he didn't make 154 in his first fight at 154 then they could have not sanctioned Mundine in a title figh at jnr middle.

Under the IBO system...Mundine had enough points to fight for the 154 belt apparently. Phil even said that "khoder promised us Mundine would make weight". Ha. Khoder and Mundine have promised many things. The fact you can contest a title without having first fought in the new division is ridiculous. And it bit them on the bum.

    3. That doesn't exonerate Team Mundine btw. Not at all. They were grubs in all this and the IBO reacted in the best possible way.

I think you will find you need to have been a champion in another division with those orgs. You certainly can't be ranked 25th in one division and fight for a title in a new division. Green wasn't ranked at cruiser when he fought Dominguez. And he certainly didn't hold an IBO belt.

True with Green....but not with Mundine...choc had the 160 IBO belt and was going for the vacant 154 IBO belt....I think thats fair.
