Will the media recognise Ricky Hatton as the P4P#1 should he defeat Pac?

this is bull****, cotto was never offered to hatton EVER, pbf was but hatton wanted to build a name in the US first to make more money when the fight actually happened and make it a bogger fight, which made sense and then pbf moved up, but hatton moved up to face him at 147 anyway so how can you say he ducked him? he hasn't avoided challenges at 140 he just fought paulie who most people considered #2 in the division. a lot of people favoured castillo before the fight happened but hatton fought him. and most of the rest were defending belt holders at 140. so he's fought 3 top 10 p4p fighters and mpst of his fights since koysta have been against defending belt holders, how can you say he avoided real challenges at 140?


so you're saying collazo is a better calibre of fighter than koysta? and there's no way hatton weighed more than collazo on fight noght, and it's not just the weight collazo is 5'9" with a 72" reach and hatton is 5'7" with a 65" reach

Hatton deserves to be number 8-10 now and deserves to be number 4 if he beats Pac. P4P rankings are not linear, beating the number 1 has never guaranteed you take the number 1 position and it never will, that wouldn't make sense.

P4P is a hypothetical idea, how does the fashion of a victory over Pac affect how you'de see a mythical matup between say, Ricky Hatton and Chad Dawson?

Regardless of the result, or fashion of result, of a Pac fight, hatton just isn't the world's best fighter, and any disinterested boxing observer will agree; the best fighter does not go life and death with guys like Urango, Collazo etc

 

hatton went life and death with urango? and he won a close fight against collazo. as as far as chad dawson, if he fought at 140 i would fancy hatton to win, like i would fancy to win against most fighters if they fought at 140. however i'm not saying he would be #1 if he beat pac.

 

Com'on....Paul beat Margarito, who beat Cotto a few months after w/c brought him to p4p status..Wlad has dominated HW division for years..And so you agree with Juan Diaz and Vic..They are more deserving than Hatton..

PW has a win against marg(top10 p4p), Vic has a win against mijares(top10 p4p), wlad has dominated HW division for years, Chad Dawson may have not beaten any p4p fighter but he surely made Joe Calzaghe afraid of him......booooyaaaah!!!!

Listen Noob, Ray Hatton is on record saying they turned the fight down 5 times from 2004-2006, follow boxing for more than 5miniutes and you might catch a clue
