Will the media recognise Ricky Hatton as the P4P#1 should he defeat Pac?

Hopkins did go number 1 p4p after beating Trinidad.

And to expect Hatton to beat Cotto or Mosley at 147 is ridiculous. And Haye is not above Hatton p4p if he beats Wlad.

Hatton would be around 4-6 IMO but I'd have no qualms with him being number 3. **** post.

Ricky Hattons is my favourite boxer and I will defend him to the end, but I don't agree.

Collazo gave Hatton issues at 147 and he while slick has average power. Cotto is a differant propect at 147. Hatton wouldn't have taken the damage that Margo took in there fight. Comparing the the two is silly.

However at 140 it would be a good fight as Cotto would surely be weight drained.

Hatton would need to be Pacman, JMM, Nate Campbell and the winner of Bradley-Holt and Judah before i'd consider putting him as no1 p4p fighter.

Hatton beats cotto at 140lbs but he'd get crushed at 147lbs.

I think one of the issues here is that Hatton doesn't seem to represent the concept of p4p very well. Whereas Pac is the definition of it in some respects, becoming champion of many weight divisions. Perhaps thats one reason why their is general reluctance to put Hatton any higher than about 4.

Yeah..He's no.9 p4p in british papers...damn, he's even no.5 in some of them........In ring mag(GBP own), Hatton is no.10, w/c is clearly biased!!! But other than those, you can't see hatton in the top 10 rankings fool!!!:smoke:smoke:smoke
