Will the mma vs boxing war continue....and if so

yeah couture knew all he had to do was get toney down. toney showed no resilience. he looked like he didnt train at all to gaurd against the ground game. not to mention he looked in horrible shape. .toney just looked slow and lackadasical. he got his check but what a waste...

dana white is a **** and will do anything to make boxing look bad. He will eventually find another boxer and pay him more than he pays his fighter so they can go in the cage and get beat by ufc legends.

Personally i would love to see kermit cintron fight in the ufc cuz i heard he used to wrestle back in college. I would like to see him vs bj penn or frankie edgar.

 

Mercer beat the **** out of that UFC HW so now we're even.

 

yeah white will continue to expose those so called punchers if he can. its really a moot point though cause i dont see too many mma fighters hanging with pro boxing champions in the ring

 

Toney hasn't been a real fighter for a long time. Don't get me wrong, I respect anyone who has the balls to get in the ring. But it's well known that he doesn't do roadwork and he sure as hell doesn't watch his diet. All he does is spar. Well, sparring is great, but it takes more than that to be a top boxer. Toney survives because he is an expert defensive boxer, but it's clear that he's just in it for the paycheck these days.

yeah this is true. toney wasnt exactly a boxing superstar. he has long lost the luster . he looked like he was there for the money. dunno how a guy trains for 4-6 months and still ends up looking like he did.

 

yea but cintron do have a wrestling background. He should work with chuck liddell and learn takedown defense so he could just knock everyone the **** out.

 

White probably doesn't hate boxing. He just badmouths it to get headlines. In the end, he's a salesman who is extremely good at selling a product. And because his product is an inferior one, he feels he has to criticize boxing. I mean really, their biggest star is Brock Lesner. The guy has maybe 1/100th of the skill and talent of Pac of Mayweather. And what 5 fights?

 

As I said, he doesn't really train. He goes to the gym, hits the pad, spars for 10 round and that it. He doesn't jump rope, run, do medicne ball work, etc. That's not real training. And I'm sure he does it for a reason. There's no way that Toney's current body could withstand the rigors of a regular training camp. He'd last maybe an afternoon at a Klitchko or Mayweather training camp.

 

Why are us boxing fans getting so wrapped up about Toney losing? It was inevitable. The result doesn't mean ****.

Ray Mercer knocking out an MMA fighter in an MMA fight, is worth a 1,000 times more than Randy choking out a bloated James Toney who didn't even belong in that octagon.
