Will the Mosley fight go down as Cotto's career defining win?

By not to long do you mean after Cotto fought some bum a tv show and about a month before he got a beatdown from Margo?

 

He's barely HOF material and is nowhere near being an ATG.

People make it sound like he took a break because he watched Cotto destroy Mosley.

Cotto won a narrow points decision against Mosley, he then went on to beat someone off a tv show and had already signed up and was in training to fight Margarito before Mayweather retired.

Cotto/Mosley was razor close I'm going to score that in a week or in a day or two. Still, it's not right that the same people saying he ducked Mosley are not giving him credit for beating him. I feel Floyd would've been better off had he'd stay in boxing after Hatton to make a few bigger challenges but you never know what people are going through.

 

Perhaps. It was a good win, but other guys beat Mosley in a similar way. Cotto will go down as a warrior who fought them all, but came up short against Pacman and Margarito. I think his signature fight is in the future. If he beats JCChavez Jr that will be his career defining fight.

 

I don't think so as Chavez hasn't proven himself as much as he should've. It would be a good/okay win and a good way to close his career with a victory.

 

Well, it's really difficult for me to say since it should have been a draw IMO.

 

Dont shoot me but I think his career defining fight was against Zab, a bloody war
where he was hurt early and ended up dominating a former undisputed WW champion.

 

Probably... I dont see him ever beating anyone better than Mosely, he just isnt a great fighter, he`s a good fighter, borderline very good on his day but he wont be remembered as one of the true greats of his era.
