Will the ref in Germany be fair to Pulev or will Wlad be allowed to constantly hold?

Hopefully there will be an honest and fair referee who will prevent Wladimir from illegal repeated clinching.

A certain amount of clinching is normal, but some boxers like Wlad and Andre Ward have been allowed to get away with too much of it, and it's not fair to their opponents.

I actually get a feeling that he might receive warnings in this fight, a bit like Lewis when he met Tyson, it's about that time. I think he won't be allowed to clinch excessively in that fight.

well lets hope not anyway. Wlad does do too much of that ****. although if he does try any of that, Pulev is of a size that will make the clinching less effective.

i'm hoping for a good clean fight. i won't be holding my breath.

Wlad will win, but i'm pulling for the cobra.

I hope Wlad fights clean. His Povetkin fight was a stinker, and he can't afford any more of those awful hugfests anymore, he is turning off even his hardcore supporters (Honestly, I followed him since the olympics, at round 8 just said "**** THIS" and walked off)

Wlad will be allowed to do what he wants. The good news for him is that unless he's changed dramatically Pulev is more of an outside fighter anyway, so it might not be necessary this time. However, if Pulev makes the adjustment and tries to go inside on Wlad, he can expect to get hugged all night.

It's a K2 promoted fight, in Germany, and he's got the BDB commission in his back pocket. Of course he will be allowed to do whatever he wants.

Pulev doesn't walk into Wlad, so Wlad won't clinch him. Pulev likes to fight from the outside, just like Wlad. Look for a repeat of Wlad vs. Thompson I. Boring chess-game with lots of feinting and a few jabs.

It doesn't matter Pulev will lose, stop trying to make excuses for when it happens.

wlad probably has a maximum number of clinches he's allowed per round written into the contract. health comes first.

+1 Pulev isn't going to be trying to get inside like Povetkin and another reason i like this fight is Pulev is the one HW who can match Klychko for physical strength. He's also got a mean streak sending a forearm smash to the back of Oloukun's head then smiling at him or pushing TT back so he's almost falling over the top rope then blasting him in the face. Pulev seems kind of viscous and willing to do whatever is necessary.

If he likes to fight from the outside then he's getting outclassed, jabbed forever and eventually sparked.

You obviously have only watched one lead fight in your life, he normally doesn't clinch at all against taller fighters

Against smaller guys who come in with there eas low and just charge in you almost have to clinch as it's very difficult to defend,Ali did it all the time

I wouldn't say he can do what he wants but yeah he will get away with more clinching than he would if he was the challenger in a different location.
