How many of Abrahams last fights ended in a decision you think? And how many of those were close, or even 'hometown' decisions?
People are saying if kessler loses vs froch, he's finished, but IIRC, if he wins his last fight, he still goes through (unless there are some very unlikely results in other fights) Likewise, if froch loses to both kessler and abrahams, he will still likely go through ahead of dirrell and green. So if these outcomes happen, both fighters still get one more chance. I think that if they walk away from the tourny with 3 losses, they're done though.
You're on Froch's nuts. You have to be. Haven't you noticed that Froch went down against Taylor and was bothered by Dirrell, who is not the most dangerous puncher in the division? :deal
If Kessler can get back to top form, he'll stop Froch. Abraham will take advantage of Froch's poor defense, and spark him out cold. Froch is 32 years old. At that age back to back KO losses would make it very difficult to get back into the big leagues. If Kessler can't beat Froch, he should go home and enjoy life after boxing.
boxing ruins boxers not tournaments, everytime you step into the ring you can get ko and seriously injured... this is a great tournament for the sport. With so many belts nowadays we hardly see the top guys fighting eachother anymore. Even if a guy loses a couple fights he's still stay near the top since he's losing to great boxers not tomato cans. When Hearns, duran, leonard, benitez all fought against eachother back in the day it didnt ruin them it only made a good era a historic era that people are still talking about. :hat
Ward may get brain damage with all those headbutts. I dont think anyone is finished. Even those out at first stage will have Bute / Pavlik or a move up to light heavy as the top guys will be tied up.
Dirrell is an interesting case here. To me he drew the toughest schedule and he could end up going 0-3 in the tourney. Based on his performance in the Froch fight, he might not have been ready for this. Having said that, his boxing skills are as good if not better than anyone's in the division and he could still end up making some noise before he is done. He just needs to toughen up a bit IMO. He should have beaten Froch pretty decisively. Plus, even if he loses his upcoming fight vs AA, he will be challenging for a title vs Ward in stage 3( assuming Ward gets by Green.) My guess? he's not going to be done. Too young, too much ahead of him. Froch is another guy who, with all his guts and self confidence, has been pretty lucky to win each of his last 2. If Taylor hadn't gassed or had been able to hang on for another 20 seconds, and if Dirrell would have brought the noise a little more....... but you know what they say about "ifs". Anwyay, point is, Froch could soon be staring down the barrell of Arthur Abraham, with a loss to Kessler in tow. At his age, he could be ripe for the picking. My guess? Not quite done, but ready to go if the losing begins. Kessler is a bit of a wildcard here, he could go either way. A loss to Froch could be devastating considering how much he seems to be driven to win. If he loses, he can still advance with a win in stage 3 over Green.(not a given at that point). If he wins, he looks good to move on. But, then he'll most likely draw Ward or AA in rd 2. My guess, he finishes out the tourney, and win or lose, he retires. Just a guess.
Correct. Most know very little about boxing. Before the first round, most were saying that Kessler would win the whole thing, now the very same people are predicting that he might even retire after his next fight after going 0-2 in the SuperSix
