    typo
But.....18 months is the maximum a title holder has before he must face his mandatory, and in many cases, a newly crowned titlist, such as Fury, Brook, Yeller, etc......a mandatory has been swerved already for whichever reason.

Fury was stripped of his IBF title for simply agreeing to his contractual obligation to Wlad.

Brook is being pushed to sign to fight his 3rd mandatory in less than 2 yrs b/c neither Alexander nor Porter where all to anxious to fight the slick SP Dan.

So, since GGG was ducked by Martinez, then Cotto, then Yeller, he was rightfully elevated from interim to FULL Champion.

Also.....when a lineal Champion doesnt ever schedule, much less MAKE a fight in the weight class he's picked up his title in, and for nearly 2 yrs to boot......common sense, and nonbias should be excercised.

The lineal title hasnt been fought for since Martinez was waxed by Murray.

Bhopkins - Taylor - Pavlik - Martinez - Cotto and now Canelo is the Lineal champ.

GGG Vs Jacobs winner may be the number 1 in division but if there existed only one belt in the division it would be past down through the above line of fights.

I wonder if and when GGG meets Saunders if it will be the first time, all 4 major World Titles, and the most relevant minor World Title, the IBO will be on the line.

BHop, Taylor, Pavlik all lost their titles to their #1 contenders.

Martinez, Cotto, and now Canelo all ducked their mandatory, GGG.

Do you think Brook should be stripped of his title if he doesnt sign immediately to fight his 3rd mandatory in 2 yrs?????

I no longer consider Canelo MW champion by lineal standards. He left the
division. Golovkin and Jacobs are 1 and 2 or 1 and 3. I'd say the winner
has a legit claim to the lineal championship

The winner will have a legit claim to the #1 Contendership to the Lineal Championship . . .

The poll seems to match my opinion - GGG is undoubtedly #1, and Jacobs is arguably #2 (his loss to Pirog is not an indictment on Daniel's level, Pirog was a p4p level talent that would beat just about anyone at 160). A fight between #1 and #2 (possibly 3 if you count BJS that has a more meaningful belt) should in theory produce the lineal champ given that the current lineal champ has yet to face a middleweight in his entire career.
