with ortiz out for a yr in the wba rankings ....ustinov(who has done nothing ) will be ranked #1 and oquendo #2 ....i think the wba should make povetkin v hammer an eliminator for the #1 SPOT IN THE WBA RANKINGS .. YOUR THOUGTS ?
I don't know because I can't say why Ust and Fres were both ranked in the top five without doing anything for so long in the first place. Ust has been in line for a WBA shot since like 2015 but just started fighting again this year. Fres's last fight was a loss for the WBA reg in 2014. Can't say why either of them are top five so I can't be sure Ust-Charr isn't for the mando, and I have no ****in' clue what is going on with Oquendo. The WBA might owe those guys something or some such bull****. They were both supposed to be in the WBA tournament before that fell apart. Then I think Ust was meant to fight Ortiz or Browne for the WBA before that fell apart. I'd rather Pov, but you never know they might have it be the winner of Ust-Charr.
not sure why Charr is even mentioned in the same breath as these other 3 fighters.. He was brutally knocked out by Briedis, a cruiserweight, and then he got KO'd brutally by Povetkin, then lost to Duahapas. the guy is trash.. How many damn chances is he gonna get?? pathetic.
Briedis isn't just a cruiserweight. He's one of the top cruiserweights in the world, and considering the amount of weight cutting those guys do could even be considered a bonafide heavyweight by older standards. Chisora was brutally knocked out by a cruiserweight as well but continued to hang around the top ten for years. Charr also had a legitimate argument for beating Duhaupas that night. It wasn't a clear cut victory by any means, and most of the hurtful shots came from Charr. Watch the fight sometime. It's actually quite entertaining. Getting knocked out by Povetkin isn't a stain on anyone's resume.
Honestly it applies to all 3 of them. Obviously Oquendo is there because of his lawsuit. Plenty of actual contenders that deserve the spot more.

I thought AJ held the regular belt because he doesn't have the WBO, but I guess he's got the Super and the winner of Pov-Hammer will be mando for the Super?
