From TBR: 6 February 2018: *** Board member Yuriko Miyata (Japan) contacted Hideyuki Ohashi, the manager of #2-ranked Jr. Bantamweight Naoya Inoue to discuss Inoue’s stated intention to move to bantamweight. Ohashi stated that Inoue is indeed leaving the jr. bantamweight division and his next fight will be at bantamweight. “He already decided,” said Ohashi, even though he has not released his title yet. Ms. Miyata informed Ohashi that this confirmation will mean that Inoue will exit the Transnational Jr. Bantamweight Rankings and Ohashi stated that “he understands it and said ‘Yes’.” This means that #3 ranked Juan Francisco Estrada advances to #2, which makes his upcoming clash with #1-ranked Srisaket Sor Rungvisai a championship bout. The official decision of that February 24 bout should crown the first true champion of that division since December 2006, when Masamori Takuyama vacated. I've always felt that Rungvisai was the man in this division ever since he beat Gonzalez twice. Will you guys feel like the winner of this fight is the one true Jr. Bantamweight World Champion?
Is it a silly question? I'm just curious as to how much credit this board gives TBR/Ring/Boxing Writers/Fans consensus champs that haven't unified the four major belts.
