It seems Rappaport wont let Maskaev sign the contract because he disputes whether Don King should be allowed to promote the fight. Its unbelievable the lengths these guys will go to to hold onto the title. Maskaev could end up one of the longest title holders while never defending it, unless you actually call fighting someone called okhello who nobody has ever heard of and was not really genuinely ranked to fight a title fight.
Meanwhile who knows how fat Peter will be by now after so long out the ring.

i agree that maskaev's camp is one hell of a hard annoying group of managers to deal with but to be fair on maskaev from the article i've read it seems they have a reasonable case to present.

i think what makes it worse is that it follows the wrangling battle over who should get to fight maskaev first. vitali or peters. so obviously this seems worse since it's two legal battles in a row.

first battle was pointless and stupid, but this legal problem is rather legit. however as a FAN i am really pissed and just want the situation to be resolved.
