    he's the biggest ppv draw and boxing star in history, he broke the all time ppv record three times. he's the highest payed athlete and he made almost 200 million in one fight, name one in fighter in history that has done that.

    canelo has been a pro since 15 though. that's 9 years into the game so of course him being mexicos biggest star he'd draw 2 million buys. but i think the all time record will stay at 4 million for a while

    No its not about PPV!! If it was then it took Mayweather till 30 to get known!! Canelo is already a superstar and has done over 2 mil already!!!

    Cotto-Canelo does 1.5 2ish. thats a superstar bro. Canelo is gonna be in the top 6 PPV's of all time at 24, UNMATCHED SON!!!

    4 mil will never be broken. but that doesnt mean he wont be a bigger superstar then Floyd

    Loma is not being marketd well, Top Rank sucks!!

    Canelo GGG on a good pace and both are super exciting, that totally helps :happy

    Loma fought on the undercard of the Flop of the century. To the 4 million people tuning in to see the boring main event, the exciting undercard with Loma saved the day.:deal

    Once the golden boy comes out of retirement and fights triple g, then triple g becomes a superstar overnight given he defeats odlh.

    Disagree. Never seen a young buck having to resort to catchweights like Canelo in his last three fights. The only other one is Chavez Jr and we know how good he is when he fights others his own weight.

    Will there ever be another...

    Floyd's star rose along side the birth and expansion of social media and he greatly benefited from it. Now that we have that in place, there is bound to be another boxer who gains the same popularity / notoriety. The amount earned will be matched and surpassed just as it has been many times before Mayweather.

    When I first said this, long before the fight, I was only half serious.

    I am completely serious now. The main event was a stinker (for the record, I blame Pac for that. yes, mayweather ran all night, but that was expected. Pac was supposed to come up with an effective strategy to counter that). The undercard was great and Loma won in a spectacular fashion. People will remember getting worked up during the undercard and falling asleep during the main event.
