I'm really hoping for Marquez to beat Mayweather, and I'm not sure if he can but at least I'm hoping but, I was thinking, if he does beat Mayweather, are there going to be excuses? Excuses like Mayweather was retired for a year so he had ring rust or this and that?

Of course there will be. Excuses will come out of the woodwork no matter who wins, especially when their marquee fighters.

Most probably there will. with that kind of ego that floyd has and the fact that he hasn't had a taste of official loss plus the fact that how people see this as a mismatch.

I seriously doubt that JMM will resort to excuses if (when) he loses. Now, if Mayweather loses to a blown up featherweight??? My god, it'll be like the excuse dam burst, unrelenting: from him, his daddy, his nuthuggers.

Avatar bets and the like are for pussies.

I will personally guarantee to KTFO anybody who makes excuses after this fight (if Marquez wins).

Everybody sign your name in this thread. If the fight comes, JMM pulls it off, and you forget about this and make an excuse, and I call you out and point out that you signed your name in this thread, you will PM me your address, foot the airfare, and I will show up at your door and punch you at least once (shouldn't take more than that to put most of you to sleep).

all fighters make an excuse after a loss. The only fighter i can think of is Cotto. That guy could have used the excuse that Margarito may have used illegal handwraps. Props to Cotto.

Excuses will always be there though not many will give a damn about any excuse if Mayweather loses seeing how hated he is. If Marquez loses of course all excuses are welcome and should be accepted.

If it's phony then Marquez wouldn't publicly state a part of his gameplan is to take advantage of it.
