But Ali was a shell of himself at the grand old age of 28 y/o after returning from his 3.5 years in the wildness during his exile. Those 3.5 years robbed him of his physical peak and he was a lot slower and lot more flat-footed, easier to hit, less fluid and agile, with slower reaction times, with worse stamina and slower reflexes and reaction times even though he scored most of his biggest wins post-exile

But Ali was pre-prime when he got dropped like a sack of potatoes, badly hurt and saved from a KO loss by the bell by a much smaller 22lb lighter Euro level paper skin/chin 185lb Bivol sized ''HW'' Henry Cooper despite it being the fight directly preceding one of his absolute greatest wins Sonny Liston

But Usyk is in his prime at 39.5 y/o and it's not like he has declined a great deal or anything or and has been a lot slower and lot more flat-footed, easier to hit, less fluid and agile, with much slower reflexes and reaction times for years

And in his 20s and early 30s it wasn't like he was like giant mongoose or anything, especially in his 20s, with razor sharp reflexes, reaction times, extremely fluid and agile with much faster hands and feet and the decline in all those areas isn't extremely noticeable or hasn't been for a long time if you actually know what you're talking about, have followed his career from the amateurs, and you aren't a brainwashed or ignorant moron who thinks the ageing process only affects certain fighters and types of fighters based on immutable characteristics and geographical location

Apparently Ali had greatly diminished in all those areas at 28 y/o after 29 pro fights and 108 amateur ones but Usyk hadn't at 39 y/o after 24 fights and 350 amateur ones even though they share so many of the same attributes and relied on them and those attributes decline with age and Usyk's have been doing so for a long time.

You clowns are literally full-on cultists. You can't even see what's right in front of your eyes if it doesn't align with your biases, preconceptions and agenda

And Ali who was very often the bigger or much bigger man, often held like an octopus including a staggering 133 times in Frazer II, pushed down on the back of his opponent's necks religiously to drain their energy reserves and he never fought way bigger and way stronger Rico sized giants in his entire career nor even close, let alone at 39 y/o or giants and athletic giants like Usyk has fought during his entire tenure at HW, his HW reign not even getting underway until he was almost 35 to 39 and you can even CLEARLY see a huge difference in terms of decline in all his aforementioned attributes from the first AJ fight, and, as said, he was already almost 35 y/o in that fight

Ali wasn't knocking out anyone at 35 or older, let alone giants who absolutely dwarfed him to the extent they looked like two different species, even though he had 15 rounds to do so

In fact, his last stoppage wins were at 34 y/o vs a 14lb lighter glass-jawed domestic level Richard Dunn and another 20lb lighter Euro level Coop in Jean-Pierre Coopman who had previously been KO'd by a 5-17-1 fighter who ended up 6-24-1 and was stopped 19 times

More importantly with the lack of activity of modern heavyweights it will be extremely hard to match Ali's achievements.

All of what you say is correct Serge but the question asked was...
Do you believe Usyk moves and jabs like Ali?

The question in the title is: "Will there ever be a heavyweight like Muhammad Ali?"

I'd argue that's not Usyk, who does everything correctly with text book precision whereas Ali did everything wrong according to most and still won while slaying greats all the same.

"Will there ever be a heavyweight like Muhammad Ali?"

A man who captivates inside and outside the ring, a showman, poet, loudmouth, activist who took on the U.S. government and won. A man who despite having multiple prime years taken from him, came back and accomplished more than when he was "Prime."

    The answer is no.

I'm not responding to the those questions I'm responding to things which have subsequently been said in response to that

And even though their styles are different they share many things in common - dimensions, attributes, and even the same birthday and charisma but that's not what I was addressing

*cracks fingers* just what i've been waiting for

The answer quite simply is Tyson Fury. Sex factor, good looks, slickness. Even surpasses Ali in some of these areas of which i will not disclose (bigger corey to start and yes i have seen it)

Dude Ali defeated far better competition than Usyk.

    Far better.

You can continue to falsely claim over and over again that he was lucky against Cooper but he wasn’t. It’s just a desperate attempt to discredit Ali. Ali was never ever ko’d. So it’s just a desperate attempt to discredit someone.

so what if Usyk is fighting giants? Usyk beat a giant in Fury who arguably lost to an MMA debutant in his last fight. And fury had spent the last several years ducking and dodging the elite heavyweights out there and feasting on a limited Wilder

Ali has a win over a prime 25 year old George Foreman who is uninamoiusly regarded as a top 10 heavyweight of all time. Neither Joshua nor Fury nor Dubois are even top 20 all time.

A guy like Jerry Quarry has more skill and a better resume than most of Usyks cruiserweight opponents. Quarry has wins over hard hitting heavies such as Rob Lyle and Earnie Shavers. That alone is far more impressive than the resumes of Gassiev, Mnchhnu, Huck, Bellew or even Breidis for that matter. And Quarry isn’t even a top 5 win for Ali

What would you say about inside fighting? You think Usyk could stay in the trenches with Frazier like Ali did in Manilla?

Ali had the greatest chin, greatest feet, greatest right hand, also was powered by magic, shot lightening from his eyes and fire from his arse.

I'm not being flippant when I say no Ukrainian man would have been able to survive the Manila humidity .

I've been to the Philippines, men like that look like red beets as soon as they step off the plane.

And you can keep throwing tantrums and bawling baba tears about me merely voicing my honest opinion about it and you can keep falsely claiming that the bell didn't save a badly hurt Ali (who needed smelling salts in his corner to snap him out of his daze) from a KO loss but guess what it's never going to stop me doing it. There are many great who only suffered 1 KO loss

Here you go again arguing against something I never said. I've never said Usyk has a better resume than Ali and obviously that would be very difficult for him to do when Ali had 61 fights and Usyk 25 but that doesn't mean he would've beaten Usyk if they fought in their primes - I'm not arguing he would or wouldn't but I'm very confident it would've been extremely competitive and very tough for both which is of course is sacrilege and heresy punishable by death to even suggest to the boxing paleontologists, nostalgists and fedora-wearing/cigar-smoking wannabe historians and the congregation of the Holy Church of All the God Could Do no Wrong but guess what no one can stop me from holding and voicing that opinion either or bully me into submission about it.

But I'm not trying to discredit Ali as I told you before I think he was amazing and I'm not trying to diminish his greatness. You guys are the one who hold Usyk to a completely different standard than you hold every other fighter in history to, act like he's immune to the ageing process and hasn't declined a lot in almost all the exact same departments Ali did even though it's glaring and has been very noticeable for a long time. I'm merely holding a critical lens to some of the negatives re. Ali and his career in response to you guys holding Usyk to an impossible standard and a microscope to anything you can use as ammo to tear him and his legacy down and you guys cannot take it or even a fraction of what you dish out.

The boxing nostalgists: Ali at 28 y/o after 108 amateur fights had declined greatly in many departments, especially speed related ones

The boxing nostalgists: Usyk at 39 years old and after 350 amateur fights, 6 WSB fights, and 25 pro fights is in his prime and hasn't declined at all even though it's glaring

I can keep listing these double standards from the cult

Usyk loses a single fight at 38-40 + years old to a younger or much younger giant or murderous punching giant in their backyard or on the road it would be used by the cultists as a scythe to tear apart his entire legacy and accomplishments and any legitimate reasons why are immediately dismissed as excuses by the cult

But your faultless unbeatable boxing Gods from previous eras lose multiple or many times in their backyards to fighters their own size, smaller or much smaller or suffer multiple KO losses vs fighters their size, smaller or much smaller it's free pass and excuse city and they're deemed shot by the cultists and all the excuses are valid reasons

If Usyk were to get popped for drinking a weak cup of coffee the morning of the fight his entire legacy and accomplishments would be torn to shreds but lab creation Holyfield gets a million free passes for being a walking pharmacy and it doesn't affect his legacy at all and all those roids and PEDs he jousted in his ass and ingested are merely placebos

    Now why is that? Hmmm..

    And there are many more

I'm not the cultist here and nor am I being unreasonable reminding you all that the unbeatable god-like greats from previous eras were not infallible and there are actually many negatives re. them and their careers which you guys can't just bury and memory hole and then try and burn ''heretics'' like me at the stake for daring to excavate them in order to try and get you clowns to attempt to be remotely fair

Ali never fought giants and athletic giants like Usyk has been doing at HW or even close to, let alone at 35-39 y/o when he had declined a lot in the areas Usyk has so that's a hypothetical too and as as much as you hypothesize about that and try and convince yourselves you're right it's a hypothetical.

Good luck trying to push down on the back of the necks of giants who dwarf you with your signature move in order to drain their energy reserves and holding them 133 times to try and greatly reduce their output, protect your chin, and drain their energy reserves.

You can speculate as much as you want about it but you can't prove it

As long as you guys continue to hold Usyk to a standard you hold no other fighter in history to, act like he's immune to the ageing process, and hold these double standards I'm going to push back against it and be a thorn in your sides

nope because boxing doesn't get tier 1 athletes anymore, they're all funnelled into safer less riskier more popular team sports

muhammed ali in this era growing up in the south with his fast twitch muscles and long reach would be playing basketball

ppl will say joshua because he's tall with muscles but he's a big stiff

I'm positive that was not nearly as hot as the fight conditions in Manilla, they always ensure there is AC in those places now. Read up the interviews of Ali and Frazier they both felt that they were actually dying.
