Will there ever be a new undisputed HW champion who is under 6ft2?

The current era is all about guys between 6ft4 - 6ft9. Do you think there will be in future a shorter heavyweight who is going to dominate the HW division and be undisputed champion?

    I doubt it.

Unless he has a wingspan of like 100".

    Someone like Ibeabuchi maybe.

Haye? No, naturally too small and relies on explosive punches. Once his legs completely go he will be very easy to contain by anyone with a good skillset and elite jab.

Mike Tyson, Rocky Marciano and Joe Frazier were under 6 foot. I think its very possible.

Only if there is a elite small guy at a time when there is a dearth of tall guys.

Which I doubt will happen as there seems to be more taller guys these days then ever.

Its possible but I don't think a small guy would last too long even if he did win the title briefly.

Maybe, but they'd need to be considerably better than their opponents to counter the phenomenal physical disadvantages they'll be facing. Either highly skilled and tricky or unrelentingly savage and resilient. I don't think it's impossible. Povetkin comes nearest to being a top HW in this day and age, and he's fairly rudimentary compared to some shorter fighters of the past. Usyk as well once he moves up.

Trouble facing shorter fighters at the moment is that refs are too lenient on larger fighters clinching to stymie inside work. If they let shorter fighters work on the inside and penalise larger fighters who attempt to shut them down then we could see some very interesting fights with the shorter fighter emerging victorious.

I don't think it will happen again, the era of the super heavyweight is here to stay.
Its bad news for me too but like my girlfriend says ' size matters ':(

Tyson was a freak with his peek a boo style which he learnt from Cus. Look at Tua
who was the last Tyson like fighter and he just could not get in closer enough to land his
patent left hook on Lewis. Sure they might win a title but dominate no never again that
    era has passed.

Don't think so, there won't ever be another Tyson. Also he was probably the best possible version of a short heavyweight we will ever see, with the perfect style and power to match, but he would still struggle with the elite super heavyweights imo.

I doubt it. If so they would have to hit more than hard.No fighter near 6'0 tall is going to do anything if they cant punch today. Anyone around 6'2 has difficulties unless they are extremely skilled. its very important to have a power punch just watch the Byrd vs Ike Ibeabuchi fight or Wlad Klitchko fights. i think also fighters like Ruiz will struggle bc of his footwork and style hes about 6'2, even non power punchers like 6'6 Hughie Fury wwhen he fights Parker will have his problems.

Tyson and Frazier were the masters at peek a boo style, need to be trained at a young age for that.boxers now a days not startin till a lot later. Peek a boo style only thing to bear a tall fighter as there reach is far superior

prime Ike was 235-45lbs hit like a truck and threw the most punches in HW history in a fight vs david tua where he also showed a great chin. a guy like him could do it
