Will there ever be another boxer as good as Floyd Mayweather?

I think one day there will be.....but dont think that will happen in my lifetime.

 

Of this era, maybe Ward.

 

No way.. No one else could ever pay off everyone or cherry pick their whole career for hundreds of millions of dollars.. Floyd has special money that no one else have, that's why everyone only accepts his and no one else can.. Boxing only liked Floyd's special money, so there's no point in getting another money maker to line their pockets with the regular peasant money...lol

 

there had been more skilled and stronger hearted, there are still more now and in the future. as a liar, woman beater, cheater, and willing to be part of the sport's corruption, that we don't know. unless the sport reinvents itself from corruption and fraud, then there will probably more to come.

 

Know one knows their way around a TUE and IV like TBE. He's unparalleled in that regard.

 

My problem with Mayweather fans is they are so stuck on this "0" and seem to think that makes him the greatest of all times.

They seem to forget the times he retired to avoid other fighters, cherry picked his way through a lot of his career.

If 4 weight world champion Roman Gonzalez goes to 50-0 with a higher KO% does that automatically make him the greatest?

Not in my opinion but if you follow the logic of most Mayweather fans then he has to be.

 

Toughest era of boxing?????? The last half of Floyds career was a complete joke. The toughest fighters available to him he either ducked or finally fought when they were washed up and had already suffered several losses. LOL You Floyd fans are amazingly ignorant. And lets not forget the majority of fans had him losing to Castillo in the first fight. The only reason Floyd went undefeated is he got very lucky with a couple close decisions that went his way. A lot of great fighters got screwed over. Looking back, fighters such as Jones Jr, Sugar Ray, hell, even Oscar de La hoya was better than Floyd. The difference is these guys searched for the toughest fights possible and actually fought other prime ATGs. Who did floyd fight? Washed up Mosley, washed up Oscar (who he barely beat) shot pac (didn't do nearly enough to earn a W, fight should have been a draw, listening to his own father between rounds tells everything you need to know about what happened in that fight), and then he had Corales and Castillo, who aren't even ATGs. He did beat a damaged, still game Cotto, will give him that fight. But look at the resumes of those other ATGs, look at Oscar. Faced PRIME undefeated Mosley, PRIME undefeated Trinidad, P4P #1 ranked Whitaker, prime undefeated Quartey, an aged Chavez twice (who hadn't been defeated in years prior) roided up Vargas, and list goes on of tough fighters at their best. And of all those guys, only Mosley defeated Oscar n their first fight which was later avenged but Oscar got screwed like he got screwed in the Trinidad fight.
I'll give Floyd credit, he was a great fighter but he didn't fight the best. He was so obsessed with keeping his 0, he carefully maneuvered his career around B and C rated opponents and the odd A opponent if there was an angle on them (washed up, exposed by a previous fighter, etc)
And the Floyd ends his career facing a guy who just lost 3 of his last 4 fights!!! When a mega catchweight fight with GGG was right there for taking. That is not a great fighter, no, Floyd was a great illusionist, fooling many fans into believing he was something greater then he actually was.

 

well if you had the money to buy the best peds and pay off the judges

Ward falls a little shorter. Although if he ends his career beating kkkov twice and Adonis idk things could be different.

But yes there will be another fighter as good as Floyd. Soon? Doubt it. However you got guys like Loma who have the skill set but it's much more than just skills.

 

Yea you right that's why Ellerbe got beat the funk down by J Prince Management when Floyd was trying to cut ties and couldn't come up with the cash at once.

Some of you guys I couldn't imagine actually talking boxing to in real life.
