Pacquiao is that man and he's even better at it.

but then again, his fights aren't as dramatic because of his good chin.

how about Vasquez? he's just as exciting to watch as Gatti ever was. props to Gatti but you guys are overlooking alot of fighters that are still here.

Hopefully not. I hope the sport advances past unskilled punching bags being brain damaged and bloodied in every fight.

Mayorga would have sparked him in 1 or 2 rounds with his power at Welterweight and size.

I don't like Gatti, my favourite warriors are guys like Morales and Holyfield, guys who give everything they have, but are highly skilled practicioners that show us the great skills that dazzle us also.

Gatti's just a glorified gate keeper who could take inhuman amounts of punishment and then jump back in at spurts like a Rocky movie, and that's why he sold. Personally, I don't find this type of sloppy **** a good representative of championship boxing.

In terms of head to head ability P4P, even Mayorga at his peak is a much finer fighter than Gatti all around.

    :yep :yep :good

At least fans moving on towards blood and guts warriors whom are highly skilled also. Hell, Barrera vs. Marquez was a 10x better fight for me than Gatti vs. Ward, because it showcased sustained action from two amazing pugilists who threw everything in the book.

You had skill, heart, adversity in Mab-Marquez.

In Gatti-Ward, you had two gate keepers slugging the **** out of each other with little of the beautiful subtle parts of pugilism.

Israel Vasquez is an amazing fighter who showcases the same type of qualities that Gatti fans love, but you see, most casual Gatti fans want a Rocky movie type of fight and they don't notice the difference between Gatti and Israel Vasquez, except that Gatti takes more punishment and is therefore more entertaining.

Gatti is justy another nae in a long line of fighters who always brought the goods. LaMotta, Frazier, Marciano, Chacon, Morales, Ward, Duran, Armstrong, Baer etc.

Realistically, Gatti is nothing more than a good, tough fighter. There have been a lot in the past and there will be more in he future.

    Of course.

There's been exciting, tough, gutsy guys like him before his time and during his time, and there will continue to be guys like him.

Putting Ward and Gatti in with those names that you just listed is an insult to those names.

i hope not, go out on the town on a friday or saturday night and you'll see a few punch ups between blokes that have the same skill level as gatti. never ever enjoyed one of gattis fights, except for the floyd mayweather one, boy that was sweet.
