There will be other great fighters but none quite like Tyson. The pure fear he instilled and that look of menacing rage. You weren't just afraid that Tyson would beat you, you were afraid that he might just eat you afterwards.

    No, he was unique.

In the history of boxing there has only ever been one Tyson, and no one is comparible.

I doubt it eather. ( great question by the way )
No matter how sad the end of his career was, he was a joy to watch for a fan.
He had it all, and was arguably the most exciting fighter we will ever see in our lifetime.
For me personaly, him and nigel benn were what i loved about boxing.

I really don't think so. He was unique, one of a kind.

Probably not, but chances are that there will be another killer who just thrashes through the division at some point in the future. We've had a few of those kinds of feared, seemingly incincible fighters in the heavyweight division before; Liston, Foreman, Tyson. The next heavyweight destroyer might be just around the corner.....

    I don't think so.

Boxing is just not generating enough interest to entice such athletes to consider it over more hi-profile sports.

I know Mike was more of a thug than an athlete, but these other sports like the NFL are now gobbling up these potential future criminals aswell.

The success of the UFC and MMA will also not help.

And even if one does slip through the cracks into boxing's ranks, society has become so pussified I can't see anyone bred in it, even those from the rough streets (as they were once called), being willing and phsycologically able to put in the dedication and the proverbial 'blood, sweat and tears' to get to that level.

The attitude and fitness of American heavyweights today is utterly pathetic. That is fully evident by their dismal lack of success.

The breed of fighter that Prime Mike was is long gone.

Actually David Haye is more of a Tyson/Ali hybrid. He floats like a butterfly and stings like a Mack truck.

If there is only one Ricky Hatton I doubt it. And if there is he is playing football, harmonica, poker or something else that was invented when heavyweights started to decline.

Tyson was good in his day, but you have one of the biggest talent filled eras of HWs ever to enjoy today, and Tyson would have struggled badly in this era, so enjoy today and stop wishing for yesterday,

    W Klitschko, V Klitschko, D Haye, N Valuev, D Boytsov, A Povetkin, R Chagaev, R Helenius, F Pianeta, A Ustinov... The list goes on
