Ill always pick Randy cause im biased but hes still getting slower and his chin isnt quite as strong as it was several years ago the age does catchup alittle regardless of how well you take care of your body. I doubt this fight is made now for several reasons. Anderson isnt fighting Belfort until April and after that if he wins which I dont believe he will he will likely fight Chael Sonnen. Randy trained 2 months then fought Nogueira in August then took 2 weeks off trained for 2 months before fighting Vera then agian took 2 weeks off before training 2 months for Coleman. The guy will probablly just back off the everyday 2 a days of training for a bit and let the whole Rua-Machida II, Evans-Rampage and maybe Lil Nog-Forrest settle itself out some. I hope Randy doesnt get a title shot off this though he still hasnt deserved it IMO one more win would it to me just depends on who all wins these fights like example Lil Nog and Machida would never fight each other and noboddy wants a Machida-Evans rematch for the title right now.

  2. I can't say I wish for this fight for Coutures sake but I'd be damn impressed if he took it.

I don't think Dana would do this to Randy. Dana has to know Randy is slowing down. Still amazing but not what he once was. Vera, Coleman etc are the type of fights to sell. Competative but hardly Machida or Shogun. Give Randy one more good fight then he get a beating from the champ and retire.

Dont doubt Randy out from regaining the Light Heavyweight Championship. If its Shogun he fights he matches up fairly well.

The right fight at the right time maybe. More accurately, the right execution of gameplan. Age matters less in a clinch. Age matters less when you potshot. Age matters less when you got top and physical control.

A tired Shogun in a clinch is beatable. Same with Machida. However I think these guys are too young, too fresh, too sharp, too fast, too powerful.

A younger fresher Randy matches up well against these guys.

That's a fight I would like to see, the fight would be interesting if Couture could get close to him early.

Randy is moving into title shot contention. His performance over Coleman is perfect to move him into a fight for number one contender or straight into a fight with the winner of Machida/Shogun II.

Dana will make this fight WHEN and IF its good for the UFC...perhaps knowing that both are nearing retirement and that Silva is near the end of his UFC contract.

Couture lost to Vera, beating Coleman doesn't mean ****. Anderson would embarrass him, it would be brutal..

Dude come on now? He did absolutely no damage to him. He pressed him against the fence, that's it. Vera hurt him multiple times, got the mount, dropped him and stuffed every single one of Coutures takedowns. I'm not gonna debate or argue over the judging process, but the fact remains that Couture might have gotten the nod on points, but he LOST that fight.

He won on points but lost the fight ? Sounds pretty stupid the goal is to score more points and if you do you win. So if an NFL team beats another 24-21 but the winner lost 12 guys to injury during the game they lost ? Makes no sense this isnt street fighting. Vera did not stuff every takedown attempt he was took down once briefly in round 1. The only time he really hurt him was the 2nd round which is the only round he won.

Round 1 Couture presses him agianst the fence, trys for takedowns multiple times and does get one, does alot of knee striking in the clinch. Randy was working while Randy was just defending all he did in that round is 2 punches in the first few secounds. 2nd round Vera drops him with the body kick fair enough he wins. Round 3 Randy did what he did in round 1 but with better striking he landed some good hand combos, some dirty boxing, knees etc watch the first 3 minutes of that round he kicks Vera's ass. Vera got a takedown similar to the one Couture got on Coleman where his hips where above him so they basically landed in mount. Vera did no damaged and Randy rolled out of it in a short period of time. So its up to you if you like the guy who was on top briefly or the one who did more damage. Not a robbery by any means.
