IMO he shouldn't.Being a HOF'er is more than just recogintion of your achievements in the ring.Whilst i admire the way Tyson crushed the opposition then dominated the weight during his prime, his personal life has done nothing to enhance the sport in the eyes of Joe public. Many fighters have come from a less than privileged background, and most have conducted themselves in a far more civilised manner. The man was a bully, and went downhill once Douglas burst his bubble of invincibility. Sorry Mike, you were a great fighter in your prime, but your personal life did nothing except embarrass you and the sport of boxing.
Take a chill pill, click on the link and u'll see he's just screwing with you:nut, people get worked up about nothing sometimes.
I think he'll definitely get in. The whole Top Ten thing is debated but that really doesn't matter, he's there or thereabouts and in terms of profile no heavyweight in nearly the last three decades comes close. You have to wait until 5 years after your last fight to become eligable. So Tyson should be eligable from next year. Holyfield is gonna have to wait until at least 2014, he'll be in his fifties by then.
His place was guaranteed 21 years ago when he beat Spinks. Tyson could have retired at 22 and got in the hall of fame at age 27 :yep
And I suppose you think that cowardly **** in your avatar deserves a place ahead of Tyson, right? atsch
It is called the Hall of Fame for a reason, buddy. This reminds me of those who wanted Liston disqualified from fighting for the title because he was... an ex-con? Irrational nonsense.
