Threatened to sue him but never did. Wonder why, smoke and mirrors perhaps.

He was asked to sign with Hearn likely to help secure the AJ fight, but never did, why not?

Even before he was named mandatory he was close to signing to fight Wilder, is that the actions of a man looking to fight the best?

Look at their track record, AJ fought Wlad as soon as the Haymon options were fulfilled. Then fought one mandatory, then unified, then fought another mandatory vs a guy people said he'd duck in Povetkin.

Ortiz on the other hand fought nobodies for years, when he did step up he was caught doping vs Kayode. Then ducked Ustinov not once but twice because he wouldn't agree to VADA testing which is rich coming from a guy who had failed one test and would go on to fail another. Then refused to sign with Hearn to secure a match and then fought the more lightly regarded Wilder and guess what failed another test. Ortiz is no boogie man, he's a wolf in sheeps clothing.

I am curious, who do you deem to have a better record than AJ currently in the divison?

Who knows why he didn't follow through! Most likely because he couldn't be asked to go through the legal costs and his career stalled like Andre Ward

Much easier to move on since he later secured with a title shot agaisnt Wilder who didn't even need to fight him, since it was voluntary defence.

Wilder gave him the title shot as promised because he wished to see Ortiz get paid so he could support his daughter.

A man who Eddie Hearn said was very dangerous and avoided

As for who Joshua has fought and who Ortiz has fought you cannot compare. One has been chased after due to being very lucrative and another has been one of the most avoided and feared guys in the division alongside Wilder.

I don't give credit for Joshua fighting a Wlad that was damaged goods. Just like I will not laud him for fighting a war torn old and worn out Povetkin.

In fact I'm sick of people giving credit to fighters for beating washed up already ripped to shreds fighters.

We saw it with Crawford when he beat the lame that had been shot in the leg, who may as well have been fighting with a stump leg.

And now we're meant to give credit for a prime heavyweight beating a man who he had a 7 inch reach advantage over, as well as a 4 inch height advantage and being over 20lbs heavier. He may as well have been fighting an amputee with no arms

Like I asked another member, when has AJ ever fought someone who didn't look like damaged goods and were coming off impressive wins?
