Yeah I watched the interview with fury and the sheik looking very cosy together, it was clear who he wants to win and he has defended him a few times, I don’t understand why he would be pally with fury but it appears to be the case
Good video, but you neglected to mention Fury being the victim of an absurd Drawbbery in Wilder I and instead mentioned that the ref counted instead of immediately waiving the bout off which I don't believe to be a controversial decision at all, but simply what happened.
1. That's your opinion which is fine, but most would agree that (while boring) it was a dominant win over someone AJ struggled with on Wlads retirement fight. If Fury doesn't get credit for fighting Wlad, neither does AJ. 2. You're right, I don't like AJ. He's not a likeable person. This was especially after his tantrum after getting schooled by Usyk twice. He's a poor sportsman who relies on rematch after rematch if he loses, but never gives his opponents the same courtesy when they lose to him. 3. I'm not a fan of fantasy match ups so I don't really care. 4. I'm not defending Fury. I'm attacking your narrative on how because AJ is "A-side" that automatically means his opponents have to accept lesser offers. It's scummy when AJ tries it, it's scummy when Wilder tries it and it's scummy when Fury tries it.
Not just that, but in his most recent interview, yesterday, he say they have close personal bond/relationship or whatever it was. This content is protected On top of that, they are looking to make AJ - Fury. And Usyk won't agree to fighting AJ at all.
He'll get a fairer shake than Dubois got against him for sure. Not only was Usyk knocked out, but for the rest of the fight any legal body blow he whined to the ref like a *****. I lost all respect for him after that fight.
Fury has definitely sold them 'a victim of British colonialism' rather than colonist spiel in addition to being the world number one in his sport and willing to play ball with them for the right price in their sport washing PR campaign.
What you mean by fair shake? Boxing is a business… a close fight goes to Fury because there a lot more money to be made from Fury.
This, exactly. Fury has had quite a few trainers since then and long periods of activity and being out of shape, both physically and mentally. These all conspire to shorten a fighter's prime, with Fury has clearly passed. The version of Fury that befuddled Wlad no longer exists. Aside from the points above he's that much older and as a fighter that relied on reflexes in his best performances this is not a good sign. He may be able to scrape up one last vintage performance but he's not with the right trainer to to have the best chance for this to happen. SugarHill Steward, though a fine trainer, is versing Fury in a more aggressive style that takes away some of Fury's greatest strengths, such as his awkwardness, elusiveness and movement. It works for shot plodders like Chisora and Whyte but against a slick operator like Usyk it's the wrong strategy entirely IMO. In saying that, if the fight is close on the cards he's gonna win, as it's very clear there's a willingness to have AJ fight Fury next rather than a 3rd fight with Usyk. So no, I don't think it will be 100% fair sadly if it goes to the cards.
