No HW champion has retired undefeated other than the late great Rocky Marciano. Can Usyk do the same?

No. He loves boxing too much.

But if he adds the winner of Dubois-Parker, the winner of Zhang-Kabeyal, the winner of Bakole-Ejagba, and maybe a resurgent Wilder, who the hell cares if father time gets him? The guy is a phenom.

It depends on how long he boxes on, when he takes that first really big dip, and who he is in with when the big dip manifests itself. No way to know.

I agree with catch that is dangerous for him how much he loves the sport, but he loves Jesus more. These god people can surprise you.

If Usyk keeps fighting at HW eventually he will get caught and counted out. He got fortunate with his bought ref in the last Dubious fight

I think Usyk himself doesn't realize how much he's regressed physically over the past 2 fights. From his perspective his shoulders are what have been giving him issues over his career, was shaking them out last time out first time in a while. Got the old cupping on his legs last camp also never a good sign. 37 years old. 2nd Dubious fight is risky. 6 rounds of pure danger. As would be the case fighting a Bakole or Zhang. These guys carry nukes.

He certainly could, but the odds are against it.

Well just depends really how long he decides or wants to carry on.

Although he boxed and fought really well in the 2nd Fury fight, I thought his feetwork looked slower.

If he keeps taking fights at heavyweight he will eventually get caught and probably counted out. If he drops to cruiser, I don't think he will be what he was over 5 years back.

As brilliant as the man is, father time is not on Usyks side, it catches everyone.

Father Time is undefeated. If he fights on long enough, he’ll absolutely lose.

so, who will he be? A Lennox Lewis, who hangs it up when he feels himself slipping too badly? Or a Larry Holmes, who can’t seem to give it up, despite not needing the money anymore?

If he fights 2 more times max I think he stays undefeated. I don't think any heavyweight can beat him at the moment, that might change in a year. I think it would be more difficult for him to drop back down to cruiser.

    Retire at the peak, undefeated.

Usyk proved himself the best in 2 divisions, please don't let a young upstart have a win over you on their record.

This question is pretty meaningsless .

If he simply does not fight anymore and retires - yes he will retire undefeated !

But this does not mean anything for the hall of fame .
Honestly usyk,s legacy at hw is very short with very few fights . And beyond aj and fury all of his opponents were cherry picked at the time.

Even in his late 30’s he is still too good for the current crop of heavyweights he could easily go on another few years unbeaten.

WTF? Dubois was a mandatory. Ad him, and that is five out of seven heavyweight fights. Chisora is also a fighter with a certain legacy in the sport, and was entirely appropriate as a test.

No. He will keep fighting until he passes the torch to the next champ as all the greats do.

You,re right - and currently dubois is a dangerous top fighter . But at the time of the fight he was first delayed by usyk as far as possible and then considered as less dangerous than wilder . Honestly the entire fight in poland , with selensky speaking via video , it was more an ukrainian propaganda show than a fight .

Whatever - Usyk proved to be a great fighter but with a total of seven fights against 5 opponents in hw he has to show us more for a "undefeated" legacy .
